Lei, with a capital letter, is the formal way to address somebody you don't know very well, older, in a higher position than you.
Be careful not to confuse it with lei, the feminine third singular pronoun.Lei, quella ragazza, è veramente noiosa. (She, that girl, is very boring).

Hi there, my name is Roberta. I am an Italian native speaker, and a professional language teacher with a DITALS II certification from Siena University. I live in Italy in a lovely little town called Monate near a small lake of the same name, just 40 minutes by car from Milan.
The aim of the lessons will not be learning generic Italian but to learn Italian according to the needs of every student. Each lesson will be personalized and designed to match students’ interests, linguistic level and learning style.

My method? No gimmicks. We talk. A lot. From the very beginning. I use direct, spontaneous conversation, often through role plays, to get you using the language—not just studying it. I bring in books, articles, songs, and anything that keeps things alive and stimulating. Grammar becomes clear, pronunciation improves, and progress becomes natural.
I’ve taught for years—Dutch, Spanish, and Italian—in the Netherlands, in private institutes, in integration programs (Inburgering), and now online from Italy. I know what works.
