When you get a lesson request, we strongly advise you to respond within 24 hours to the student. You can accept or decline the student's request.
It is not compulsory to offer a free trial class.
However, our statistics show that teachers who offer a free trial class are more likely to receive lesson requests.

The lessons must be scheduled and documented before the lessons take place. Once the lesson is created, the student has access to all the details.
After the lesson, it is important that you remind your student to confirm that the class took place. Remember you only get paid after the student has confirmed the lesson.
Your teaching methods and the materials you provide are your responsibility.
It is very useful for students to have materials adapted to their needs. Therefore, you could use up-to-date web materials in combination with your own.

Sharing your teaching materials is possible in various ways:
- On the coLanguage website: click 'Learning Materials' on top of the page and select + Add learning materials. You can then upload files and decide with which student you share the learning materials.
- Sharing platforms like Google Drive or Dropbox.
Students can cancel their lessons up to 24 hours before its scheduled starting time without any charge. Please contact the student to reschedule the lesson. If they cancel within 24 hours of the lesson, they will get charged and you will get paid unless you have agreed otherwise. When you are in doubt of what you have to do, you can always contact the customer support.
It is not advisable to cancel scheduled lessons. However, if it is necessary, the student must be contacted as soon as possible.
The lesson must be deleted on the coLanguage website to return the prepaid hours to the student's account.
Yes, you can stop receiving new lesson requests temporarily by hiding your profile from the teacher list.
Go to My Profile → Edit → Availability → Receive booking from students.
When you change your rate per hour the price will change for new students. However, for existing students the former hourly rate will stay the same. They will not have to pay the new amount.
You can decide whether you want to teach groups or not. Note that teaching groups will raise your hourly rate, while students pay less. This might create a win-win situation for everybody involved. As a teacher, your hourly rate raises as follows:
Imagine you receive €15/h for individual lessons. You hourly rate goes up if you teach multiple students.
