Reflexive pronouns (French: les pronoms réfléchis) are applied between the subject and the verb when the action in the sentence is executed and received by the subject. They are commonly used when someone is talking about their daily routine. Besides that reflexive verbs aim to use the reflexive pronoun in terms of oneself.
Reflexive pronouns can be divided into

- strong form pronouns

Keep in mind that me, te and se become m', t' and s' before verbs that start with a vowel or mute h.

Reflexive pronouns in front of the conjugated verb:
- Elle se dépéche. (She's in a hurry.)
- Je me lave. (I wash myself.)
Reflexive pronouns in front of the infinitve form:
- Il va se dépécher. (He will be in a hurry.)
- Ils vont se préparer. (They will prepare.)
Reflexive pronouns behind the imperative form:
- Dépéche-toi! (Hurry up!)
- Asseyiez-vous! (Sit down!)
Reflexive pronouns in front of the negated imperative:
- Ne te dépéche pas. (Don't hurry.)
- Ne vous préparez pas. (Don't prepare yourselves.)

My name is Matilde, I'm 31 years old and I come from Montpellier. I have been living abroad for almost 9 years.
I have a Bachelor degree in applied foreign languages (LEA) as well as a Master degree in FLE (French as a foreign language). I do not have a formal need but I want to be able to survive and communicate with friends in french in daily life. In that sense, lessons with Elodie is very nice. It is indeed like you are having a casual conversation with your very organized french speaking friend writing down the new vocabulary or the mistakes you make. Even though we plan 1 hour/week, it is already working a lot better for me compared to a 3-4 hour/week group course with 20 people.
