What is a declarative phrase in French ?
In a declarative phrase (French: la phrase déclarative), the author declares an opinion, an information, a thought. A declarative sentence always ends with a point (.)
It can be used to describe a landscape, tell an event or story, or express an idea or opinion.
The declarative sentence contains one or more verbs, a subject, one, several or no complements.
|On dirait une grande poupée.||(It seems a big doll)|
|Il y a eu un grand feu de camp lors de notre soirée annuelle.||(There was a huge bonfire at our annual party)|
|Matthieu raconte quand il a vu un serpent.||(Matthew is telling when he saw a snake)|
|Je pense que vous pourriez m'aider sur cela.||(I think you could give me a hand on this)|
The declarative phrases and forms
A declarative phrase can take all forms but usually the affirmative form and the negative form as they also end with a single point (.)

|Affirmative||Je ferai mes devoirs||(I will do my homework)|
