Examples:
However, indirect object pronoun placement depends on the conjugated form of the verb.
Pay attention to the following cases:
With negative commands, the pronoun precedes the verb which refers to the command.
Example:
No me pidas eso! (Don't ask me that!)
With affirmative commands, attach the pronoun to the verb which indicates the command.
Example:
¡Mándale* un ramo de flores! (Send her a bouquet of flowers!)
_____________________________________________________________________________________
* If the stressed syllable of the verb is the next-to-last one (not counting the pronoun), add the accent mark
When used with infinitive forms, the pronoun occurs after the infinitive and it is attached to it.
Example:
Acabo de darle una mala noticia. (I have just given him a bad news.)
Otherwise, it can be placed before the verb which precedes the infinitive form.
Example:
Le acabo de dar una mala noticia. (I have just given him a bad news.)
When used with gerund forms, the pronoun occurs after the verb and it is attached to it.
Example:
Estoy envíandote el correo. (I am sending the mail to you.)
Otherwise, it can be placed before the verb which precedes the gerund form.
Example:
Te estoy envíando el correo. (I am sending the mail to you.)
When used with an indirect object pronoun, the verb gustar (to like) is always used in the third-person (singular or plural).
Examples:
The indirect object pronoun refers to the person who likes something (subject of the sentence in English).
Indirect object pronoun | Singular subject | Plural subject |
---|---|---|
me te le nos os les | gusta | gustan |
Examples:
To put the stress on who likes something, a prepositional pronoun may be added before the indirect object pronoun.

Hello everyone! I'm Marta, and I am an Italian teacher. Since the beginning of my career I have worked in contact with foreign languages and Italian. While studying to obtain my master's degree in "Italian language and culture for foreigners", I had the opportunity to work as an Italian language assistant in a foreign University. More recently, I held an Italian course for people who have just arrived in Italy.
My greatest passion is literature, which I avidly read. To pursue this interest I also undertook a post-graduate master in translation, which allowed me to become a Spanish translator and to explore the world of editing by doing an internship at an independent publishing house. I am also fluent in English.
The classes for my students are centred around oral communication and Italian grammar, so I put great effort to exclusively speak Italian and avoid using other languages. I personalise PowerPoint presentations for my students, and I regularly prepare weekly assignments to be revised during the following lesson, in order to encourage individual study. The first class is free and is centred around the interests and needs of the student, in order to create a personalized and engaging program.
Teaching and languages has always been my passion, so if you want to learn or deepen your knowledge of Italian language and culture, do not hesitate to contact me!

Hello, everyone,
I am Marcella, a native Italian who has moved to Switzerland to study.
I have a degree in Ancient Literature with a focus on archaeology, and in Italy I am qualified to teach literary classes.
I am doing a PhD in archaeology at the University of Bern, where I teach every two semesters.
I prefer to teach one-to-one or in pairs in order to make the most of my time and focus on people's needs. I prepare targeted courses, which is why I offer a trial lesson to establish the future course of the lessons.
Lessons are usually always mixed, conversation and grammar using audio, video and text material. Depending on the speed at which the student intends to progress, homework assignments are structured.
Try it for yourself! I look forward to seeing you online!

Hi, I'm Francesca
I have been teaching Italian to adults since 2010, individual and group lessons. I have a degree in English and French, and I have a diploma of interpreter in German. In the summer I teach Italian in full immersion courses in Tuscany, where I live.
I really enjoy helping people to learn more not only about Italian as a language but also the rich Italian culture.
Usually I divide my lessons into three parts: a bit of grammar (which is unfortunately very useful...but I can teach you some tricks to learn without much effort!), a listening/reading comprehension part usually with videos, songs, docs about Italy and then ... we talk about Italy!
I will provide all material, and I'll send them by email.

Hello! My name is Jacko a TESOL certified teacher and I've been teaching English online to both young learners and adult learners of different levels since 2015. For me, teaching is a mission, I will be with you every step of the way and make sure to guide and help you until you reach your goas. I’m patient, friendly, engaging and I always make sure my students can learn in a very simple way while having fun at the same time. I do believe that "Nothing is impossible" so "Just do it"! I hope to meet and see you in one of my class!

Hi, my name is Stefany and I am Colombian, but I live on the small island of Malta. I love teaching Spanish in this place because I have the opportunity to do it in many ways: on the beach, in a Cafe, or in a house. This allows me to be flexible and resourceful to give dynamic and effective classes that adapt to the needs of my students. I encourage you to book a free trial class with me, so you can find a fun and easy way to learn Spanish.

Stefany is a great teacher, with only 12 sessions and I already feel a great improvement in my Spanish language skills! She uses very interactive material such as games and videos. She takes into account your level and goals and tailors the classes in a way that is more suitable for you! I am also really happy with her explanations and examples, which have been really helpful in understanding new topics, vocabulary, and grammar! I am very satisfied with the choice of teacher I have made and can highly recommend reaching out to her and starting your Spanish language acquisition journey with Stefany by your side!
