In this chapter the adverbs of frequency in English will be explained. Adverbs of frequency indicate how often an action takes place.
Frequency adverbs show how often an action happens, this can range from always to never.
The English adverbs of frequency are placed before the main verb, but after the auxiliary and modal verbs. Except for the auxiliary verb 'to be', the adverb should be placed after this verb.
|Always||She is always happy.|
|Every day||She goes to work every day.|
|Constantly||They constantly talk during class.|
|Usually||He usually works from home.|
|Normally||They normally have soccer practice at 9 o'clock.|
|Frequently||He has frequently been compared to his brother.|
|Often||I am often late for class.|
|Sometimes||Sometimes it's so cold he doesn't leave the house.|
|Ever||Have you ever been to Asia?|
|Regularly||She travels to London regularly.|
|He goes to the cinema only occasionally.|
|Rarely||He rarely joins us when we are going out.|
|Seldom||They seldom speak to each other.|
|Never||She has never been to Asia before.|
The adverb 'ever' is often used to ask questions.
Another way to express frequency is through expressions, which are placed at the end of the sentence.
|Once a week||She goes to the gym once a week.|
|Twice a week||They do their homework together twice a week.|
|Three times a week||He exercises three times a week.|
|Anymore||She will not be our teacher anymore.|
|No longer||They are no longer working together.|
The frequency expression 'no longer' is placed in the middle of the sentence.

Hello! My name is Deborah! I am a language instructor. I teach Italian, English and Bulgarian. I have more than 10 years teaching... experience, both face-to-face and online to individual as well as to small and large groups. At the moment I am teaching Italian in a private school in Sofia, Bulgaria- where I lived for more than 10 years. I teach English to students ready to move to English speaking countries for work, and to students who need Еnglish for their career. I also prepare students for exams (KET, PET, FCE, CAE, CPE), and I offer language courses for communication and travelling purposes. I attended the College (tourism) in Lucca-Italy. I have a diploma in Secretarial and Business Administration from the South Kensington and Chelsea Collage in London- (I lived in London few years ago). I have a TEFL certificate -grade A. and an ECL certificate in Bulgarian C1 with 96/100. Therefore, I have a good knowledge of how languages work and I can provide my students with helpful insight. Teaching is my passion, and I am constantly in search for new methods to help my students to get through the challenges and the difficults when learning a new language. I am an enthusiastic, dedicated and adaptable teacher. I always use the communicative method in my teaching and I try to make my students feel comfortable by creating a funny and relaxed environment.
