Having online lessons with a teacher really helped me to keep up my study pace, and provided me with the essential opportunity to practice speaking (and 'real time' sentence building) to someone, who can also correct me on my pronunciation. On top of that, being a native speaker and current resident in Italy, Lucia also helped me to understand the cultural influences and tricks and habits of the Italian language. I liked that she could recommend a study book and also provided online excercises and assessments from the book, which she could revise as my homework. This provided both me and her with more possibility for feedback during the lessons. Lucia did not speak my native language (Dutch), but this was not a hindrance as we could communicate in English and quite quickly shift to mostly Italian instructions anyway :) The study pace was quite slow in my opinion (i.e. a quarter book lesson per online lesson), as Lucia used this time to make sure the basis was strong, before moving forward perhaps too soon. However, especially for some wider range in 'holiday-sentences' or general vocabulary it was good for me to have some additional excercises/podcasts on the side (or to move forward in the book on your own), to help me learn faster. However, especially with listening to podcasts it was really really good to have the solid (also grammar- and spellingwise) basis of the lessons with Lucia, as additional materials would otherwise never land on 'fertile ground'. The lessons are essential in moving forward with the language. Lucia herself is super nice, patient and open for questions or any input during the lessons, and her cheerfulness makes the studying all the more fun.

Tove is amazing! I started on Duolingo 1.5 years ago and I could not start a normal conversation. Tove helped me with the pronunciation, with grammar, with the Danish culture, she gave me many children's adventures to read (I like them) and, suddenly, I spoke Danish after 12 Danish lessons! I now work in Denmark and everyone says my Danish (pronunciation / grammar / vocabulary) is very good. Sa Tove is my 'language angel'. There is a clear structure in each lesson: first we talk about something, then we do some grammar exercises and read a little. She also almost always does a listening exercise with new words from the last lesson and the topic is often about my life. Very convenient! She is always interested in you and what you experience. She can also well understand what you mean if you can not find the right expression, so there is never "a dead moment" in the lesson. It was a nice experience! I can recommend Tove to anyone who wants to practice Danish!

Allow me to transfer to you a part of my enthusiasm and my conviction that anyone can learn a foreign language in a funny way. Firstly, I promise you that a foreign language is an open door to another mentality, to another culture. I’m writing from my experience; I’m Romanian and I’m learning French since I was 8 years old. It’s not an easy language, especially at advanced levels, yet in my opinion, it’s the most elegant language. French transferred to me not only an elegant way to express myself - even in my mother tongue but also a different way of thinking; I read in French many classical French writers. During my master studies, I had also the chance to live among French students and I borrowed from them a great way to schedule a working day. I honestly think that learning French or Romanian could mean for you adding value to yourself.

I have done one lesson with Daniela. I was very impressed by her knowledge and I feel very comfortable that she will be a good teacher going forward. She took time to assess my knowledge of Romanian and to understand my goals going forward. I will update my review over time, but so far, I am pleased with her instruction and have scheduled more lessons with her.
