Hello everybody. I am a native Turkish speaker. I growed up in Istanbul. Also I am a Turkish Language and Literature teacher/academic with 10... years of experience. I have a BA and MA degree. Now I am writing my doctoral dissertation. It's about 'Turkish Novels'. I have 4 years experience in teaching Turkish to foreigners. Also I have a "Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language Certicate". Now I am a teaching assistant in a university in Turkey. Teaching is my passion. I motivate my students very well. I give them homeworks and follow their progress. My lessons are cheerful. My students usually say they feel relax in my lessons. I have written a master thesis, two books and now I've been writing my PhD thesis. Turkish literature is my profession. When you made a lot of progress we will read and discuss on Turkish literary. I am a huge fan of Dostoyevksi. I think he is the best author off all times. My favourites from Turkish literary are Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar and İhsan Oktay Anar. Maybe we will be discussing their writings one day, who knows :) I am a patient and cheerful teacher. Because I really love my job. I believe that I'm making language learning enjoyable and easy. I gave lessons to so many adults. They were from several countries. I can understand my students' needs and organize the lessons according to my students' interests, wishes and their goals. Because I know that: everybody has not same reasons for learning Turkish. Also I've studied with 12-18 aged teens for two years. I know their needs and I am good at getting along teenagers :) I know that reality: every student is not same, so I schedule my lessons to each students' individual needs. I know that how a lesson goes more cheerful and educational. I'm using whiteboard in the lessons. (It's essential to explain grammatical points.) Also I am using a lesson book, pictures, flashcards, videos, recordings and and etc. I give homeworks to my students. I'm following my students' progresses. Now, you know me some more :) If you're still looking at my profile now probably you are interested in my Turkish courses. I know you are irresolute between to take a trial lesson or not. I know, it is a bit hard to find the right teacher that you can agree. And also I know you think whether learning Turkish is a good idea or not. I am here for meeting with you and answering your questions :) And also... - I am going to assess your level - We will find the best way you to learn Turkish language After you've booked the trial lesson, please give me some information about you and your Turkish language level. Hi, I am Hatice from Istanbul. I HAVE BEEN TEACHING ONLINE AND IN PERSON. I am a native speaker of Turkish and was born in Istanbul. I... have been teaching Turkish to foreigners and I have thought hundreds of students from all ages and professions for more than 20 years. I am a professional English teacher but I like teaching Turkish more as it is my mother tongue and it is a great pleasure for me to share its secrets and beauty. While teaching I also love giving some useful information about the culture, people, cuisine, films and literature in Turkey to help you get connected to Turkish culture. I prepare written and verbal dialogues in the areas the student is interested in. I am from Istanbul but I traveled almost all cities, mountains, rivers, lakes in Turkey. I am a person who likes less traveled roads and back streets. Traveling around the world and reading on the areas of spirituality, philosophy, psychology, and literature are my number one hobbies. I lived and worked in London, Toronto, and S. Korea. Living as an expat and learning several languages have helped me having sympathy with my students. Motivation, feeling relaxed and setting realistic targets, in the beginning, are usually the first thing to go. As for my formal education, I studied Economics, International Relations, Western Philosophy, and American language and literature at the university (MA and BA). And after my 40 years old, I learned classical Arabic and Persian and started to study Islamic spirituality at the doctorate level. I taught English at Prep. school at Istanbul Technical University and Yeditepe University and am retired. Ever since I could remember I have been a teacher. Now I only teach Turkish privately and translate classical novels from English to Turkish. I translated 12 books from English to Turkish. I teach Turkish that is tailored for each student. Each student is unique for me and I know that every student has her/his own way of learning. If you are a beginner I give a short lecture about the history of Turkish and its characteristics and help you find your way in this very logical, consistent and elegant language. You understand that Turkish is different but that does not necessarily mean difficulty. From the first lesson, you start speaking Turkish and find yourself in a dialogue. I can teach at my place and your place (all around Istanbul). I use several books using a grammar-based approach integrated with communicative methods to boost the development of all language skills. But we always focus on TALK, TALK, TALK. As a language learner for many years, I know one can learn, improve and take pleasure in a foreign language only by talking and communicating. It is essential to get direct pleasure from what you have learned. My aim is to motivate and inspire you to speak Turkish ignoring minor mistakes and without thinking grammar. Read more

Hi, My name is Ayşegül. I have graduated from Hacettepe University the department of English Language Teaching. I'm an English teacher in a... private institution now. I can teach both English and Turkish. First and foremost I want to start with one of my favourite quotation from Richard Henry Dana(!) (I'm not sure whether this quotation belong to him or not, but I liked it. :) “He who dares to teach must never cease to learn.” First of all we as a teacher must improve ourselves about everything such as cultural knowledge, technology, best seller book, new novel etc. We should keep up with the time and try to understand our students. Then we should know students’ interests, needs, backgrounds and their level of English. If we know the aforementioned things, it would be more easy for us to decide what kind of materials we can use to attract their attention. Also, one of the key point is that we should motivate the students to learn. As a teacher we should teach our students why they learn the language/grammar/vocabulary etc. rather than just memorization. Regarding teaching method, we can use student centered methods. We should use examples from the real life and they can broaden students’ knowledge. Also using examples from the real life, help students to internalize the examples. I strongly believe that we should make our students acquire the language from all aspects including reading, listening, writing and speaking. All in all, as a teacher we have lots of things to do. One of the most important responsibilities of us is to help students to understand that they have the enough power and capacity to learn a language if they are decided enough. Read more
