My name is Nora and I am born and raised in Sweden and have lived most of my life within Sweden. I love cats and my interests are reading books, swimming and travelling.

I have a bachelor in social work and have worked in both Swedish and English speaking environments. For instance as a school counselor in an English speaking high school and as an English teacher in Cape Town in South Africa for kids.

I am studying Spanish myself at the moment and I know how hard it can be in the beginning with a new language. I also know how much fun it can be when you start to actually be able to communicate in your new language. I believe every new language you learn is going to expand your way of thinking and make you grow!

I can offer both teaching for absolute beginners in Swedish, but also if you want to develop the language skills you already have. I offer a free trial lesson.

Hello everyone!
ABOUT ME
I was born and have grown up in Johannesburg, South Africa. I am passionate about football, traveling ( who isn't ! ), and reading books that make me want to stay indoors and read all day! But I have many interests and the most exciting thing is getting a chance to talk to you about all of them and finding out about your interests too. This is one way we will practice your English skills and together we will set goals and aims to make you perfect in English.

ME AS A TEACHER
I have completed the 120 hour CELTA course, including six hours’ assessed teaching practice at two different levels. This is in addition to my Bachelor of Arts and Higher Diploma in Education qualifications.
I have taught student's in classrooms from Johannesburg, to London and Athens from as young as 13 right up to adults. This included business people and corporate individuals such as bankers. I am excellent at teaching from pre-intermediate to proficiency and with my business background, I am ready to help with Business English. In addition, I can greatly help with any exam preparation for IELTS, TOEFL, and TOEIC.

MY LESSONS & TEACHING STYLE
I teach because it has always been the one thing I am most passionate about. It’s this very feeling and passion that helps me create lessons that are well prepared, with a focus on short term and long terms goals and lessons that we will do as a team. I do believe strongly that any teaching is done as a partnership.

I do this through lessons that are creative, fun, interesting, and engaging - which means I get to hear what your thoughts and opinions are. So I will build a personal course for you based on using your interests, passions, and needs to create our study material. Here are a few tips on how to get the most out of every lesson:
1. Review what you covered in your previous lesson.
2. Focus on things you had difficulty with. I will definitely go over them.
3. It is always a great idea to take notes during your lessons. It helps you stay more focused on what you are learning.
4. Feel free to ask me if anything has come up since your last lesson that you want clarification on. Your questions do not have to be prior lesson related, maybe you are just curious about how to say something.
5. Be sure you have completed your homework assignments. If you were not able to complete them, make notes about what stumped you. Were the instructions not clear enough, was the vocabulary beyond your level of comprehension, were the grammar rules too overwhelming, was there too much homework for the time you had planned to spend on it, and so on.
6. Contact me prior to your next lesson if there are any issues or changes you would like to make me aware of so I can have a chance to make changes to your learning plan.

My name is Andrea and I'd like to be your Slovak teacher. :-)

I am a qualified teacher. I studied at the State Language School in Slovakia and I passed the General State Examination in English Language (C1-C2 level). I gained a Doctor of Philosophy degree (PhD.) in Social Work and completed an Additional Pedagogical Education. As a PhD student, I gained experience in teaching. I´ve more than four-year experience in teaching. I enjoy teaching, working with people and speaking in English.

We can focus on whatever you wish to practise and I can take you through a structured course and I will supply you with all of the required materials. Lessons dependent on the student's needs - grammar, speaking, writing, reading or listening. I can help you with all aspects of Slovak.
