I have always been passionate about the Greek language, both ancient and modern. During my studies and early work experience, I realized that... teaching Greek to non-native speakers would be the most fascinating challenge for me: I believe that language is the key to not only the culture of a country but also the hearts and minds of people. I’ve now been a Greek teacher for several years and I love it! In my classroom, in addition to syntax and grammar, we discuss the current situation in the Greek world, my and your experiences of Greece, the food, songs, movies and a lot more. I am a native Greek speaker who moved to the Netherlands in 2017 to follow postgraduate studies in Linguistics. I have worked as a Greek teacher since 2016. I hold a Master in Language and Communication from Leiden University and a Bachelor in Greek Language and Literature from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2015). Additionally, I follows the program “Diadromes” (meaning “Routes”), which is the standard program of the Greek Ministry of Education for the training of teachers of Greek as a second/foreign language. I am a online English teacher, focusing on your ability to express yourself the way you want, using the English language. In 2013, I was the... lead vocalist of a rock band. In order to sound more like a native speaker when I sang, I taught myself the American accent. It took me a while to make the change, but over time, I developed it to my liking. And that is what I am offering to you: to help you express yourself in the way you choose. I am an online English teacher. My other talents include being a singer-songwriter, novelist, editor, and media scholar. My passions are supported by my love for the English language. In my lessons, I offer various different tools that help you in communication -- accent, intonation, emphasis, posture, attitude, et cetera. I want to remove any hesitation that you might feel when you want to speak English. My goal is for you to count English as a strength, not an obstacle. My lessons will also include grammar, conversation, and vocabulary. I also offer help with standardized test preparation -- with TOEFL and IELTS. My TOEFL score from 2014 was 109/120, with very high scores in speaking and writing.
