Please read the following lines to learn more about me, my teaching methods as well as the documents I use for my lessons. 1. Who am I ? I also have a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish language, literature and civilization. I have done several internships to teach Spanish as a foreign language, in schools and high schools in France and also to teach French as a Foreign Language (Enseñanza Secundaria Obligatoria and Instituto de Enseñanza Secundaria, Spain). Thanks to my studies as an Erasmus student in Cordoba, Andalusia (Spain) as well as my internships in Spain, I speak Spanish fluently. In 2020, I have run several conversation workshops online with B2-level students, from the Pedagogical and Technological University of Tunja, Colombia. I also speak English. I am motivated, energetic, rigorous, available at all times and I’m always ready to consider my students’ needs. I know how to adapt my teaching to them, to give them all the chances to excel in learning French. My work is my passion and I always devote all my energy and all my heart to it. 2. My teaching method My teaching method is largely based on the communicative approach. I am also aiming towards the action-oriented approach. In other words … My goal is to help you learn French or Spanish, so that you are autonomous and feel at ease during a conversation with a French or Spanish speaker. To reach this goal, we will work on communication situations similar to that of your daily life and fitting your needs in terms of learning. I create your classes depending on your profile, to get you motivated and to help you reach success. I guarantee a complete transparency on the program we shall follow. We will create it and define it together, during our first session, which is free. We will use the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL) to set linguistic goals according to the level you want to reach. I like to design the lessons and to add some rituals, to help you learn and memorize more easily. However, I will be listening to your need and demands. 3. Documents and material I use If you choose to have online lessons, we can meet on Skype, Google Meet, Zoom or Webex. I use authentic and semi-authentic documents, found online, in books, newspapers, textbooks, to help you face realistic conditions. We shall vary and have different activities, such as cultural and cross-cultural activities, comprehension activities, writing or speaking activities. Activities focusing on the lexicon, on grammar or on the pronunciation can also be offered, should you need it ; everything will beadapted according to your profile and needs, in order to suit you. I am not an improvised teacher, but I can improvise. PERSONAL STATEMENT I simply love foreign languages and cultures! In my career I have... studied English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German and Russian. Though only for a month, it still counts! I am fluent in English and almost there in Spanish. I have good command of Portuguese and can get away with French and German. So, if you are a beginner in English or Italian I can help you in your mother tongue (if it's one of those mentioned above, obviously). I have an Italian and an international teaching licences and 10 years' experience teaching English. METHODS(+experience) My teaching methods change according to the students. In classes of teenagers and adults I prefer using the inductive method, that is to say presenting the students with texts and have them discover the structure of the language. That is a great way for students to easily remember how the language works. It is considered the best method nowadays, still it is not the best in all circumstances. I have studied languages for a loooong time and I know what I want as a student. In 1 to 1 classes or in classes with few students it will be possible to adapt to the students' needs. I have a degree in foreign languages and literatures. I studied Spanish literature (of Spain) and postcolonial literature in English, so I can help you with that too. I have experience in teaching the Trinity and Cambridge exams and myself took the TOEFL, IELTS and Trinity. And I am planning to take the DELE C1 in June. Finally, I have a certificate in teaching Italian as a foreign language. MATERIALS Anything! In class I use the textbook to remain on track but I like my students to experience the culture of the language they are studying directly thorough the so-called authentic materials: songs, literature (novels, plays, poems, etc.), articles, films, social media...anything, I said! Hi! Do you want to learn Spanish in an easy and fun way? My name is Sonia and I have liked teaching since I was a child. I really enjoy each... class, trying to get the best out of each student. I have training as a primary education teacher, in addition to different official certifications ("Multiple Intelligences for Teachers", "Learning Styles, Techniques and Strategies", "Neuroeducation in the classroom" ...), this has enriched my training tools and I They have allowed us to have experience with students with diverse needs and learning styles. My methodology is based on a communicative, active approach focused on the needs presented by the student. The contents I teach are within the Program of the Instituto Cervantes (Official Institution for the teaching of Spanish) and the recommendations for levels A1-C2 of the DELE exams. The four basic skills (oral and listening comprehension and oral and written production) will be practiced through the topics that the student prefers to deal with. On the other hand, I have a large number of resources and materials, such as videos, songs, audios, Power Points, interactive games, readings, riddles, different apps, etc. Over time I have been specializing in language teaching, specifically in the last three years, while I was teaching classes I was training as a Spanish teacher in various institutions.
