Hello! My name is Maria and I am a passionate and experienced online English teacher. I started my career as an English language teacher in... 2008 and soon became very passionate about language learning and teaching. This culminated in a Masters degree in second-language acquisition and a CELTA Certificate from Dundee College. I specialised in Trinity and Cambridge exams and also in conversational English for practical and everyday use. During my teaching career, I have lived in Spain, the UK and China. I also worked as a Spanish teacher as well as a Director of Studies for different summer schools in the UK. I have had students at all different levels, from beginner to advanced. These have always been great experiences as they have helped me to explore my other passions of travelling and learning new languages. While my classes are 100% in English, I can also speak Spanish and some Italian words. This gives me a real insight as to why students make certain mistakes, and how to best avoid them. I really enjoy teaching and helping people improve and grow in confidence. I am currently learning Chinese (very difficult!) so I know how difficult language learning can be, but with well-structured and enjoyable classes, it becomes easy! Hey there! My name's Jayshree, you can call me Jay if you prefer. I'm a native British TEFL qualified English teacher. I love teaching... English to kids, teenagers and adults, from Beginner to Advanced levels. I've taught over 800 students from across 54 different Countries. I've only been teaching English online for one year and before that I was teaching English in person and in my Yoga classes. I'm also a Wellness - Yoga and Meditation Teacher. Prior to teaching English I worked as a Management Consultant in the UK for 16 years. I trained people in English how to use new ways of working in a rapidly changing world. My English language classes are fun, creative and relaxing. I feel that humans learn best when they are feeling safe, happy and relaxed, so I create a learning environment which enables the student to feel this way. I love teaching children from the age of 4 to 13 years old. These classes are fun and colourful. We learn English through playing games, reading books, watch video clips. We use cartoon quizzes to practice grammar play tick tack toe to help a child build confidence to speak and freely express him/herself. For teenagers aged 13 - 17, we tend to watch short video clips about topics that interest them. We practice listening skills too using a variety of accents so they can understand people speaking English from around the world. We focus more on learning idioms and everyday language usage. Adults often tell me they feel confused about when to use the different verb tenses in English, so I start to introduce them early on to help all students see how easy it actually is to grasp the different tenses. When I had to learn Spanish a few years ago as an adult I found a Spanish teacher who shared this approach with me which really helped me so I now use this approach with my English students. With adult students I tend to focus on specific topics such as Business English, Travel and Culture, Science and Music, Interview Preparation, IELTS preparation. I sometimes work with PhD students who want to learn specific topics. I did my PhD over 20 years ago. The Business English classes are more expensive than the other classes as teaching English for travel is different to teaching English for Business Communication. I have a degree in Business Studies and have been TEFL certified since 2012, Since 2012, I have been teaching students of various ages and have... been preparing them to sit exams with Cambridge University, such as PET, KET, FCE, Business and IELTS. I use material from Cambridge such as coursebooks from Pearson´s Educatio for PET and KET and Intelligent Business for Business. My name is Eva, Hispanic Philology Degree and Master's degree in Teaching Spanish, and I have taugh Spanish for 14 years in language... schools and for companies and individuals who want to live and work in Spain from very diverse sectors (businessmen, psychologists, video game designers, teachers ...), and people who wanted to learn the language by pleasure or to be able to communicate on their trips as well.
