I am not an improvised teacher, but I can improvise. PERSONAL STATEMENT I simply love foreign languages and cultures! In my career I have... studied English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German and Russian. Though only for a month, it still counts! I am fluent in English and almost there in Spanish. I have good command of Portuguese and can get away with French and German. So, if you are a beginner in English or Italian I can help you in your mother tongue (if it's one of those mentioned above, obviously). I have an Italian and an international teaching licences and 10 years' experience teaching English. METHODS(+experience) My teaching methods change according to the students. In classes of teenagers and adults I prefer using the inductive method, that is to say presenting the students with texts and have them discover the structure of the language. That is a great way for students to easily remember how the language works. It is considered the best method nowadays, still it is not the best in all circumstances. I have studied languages for a loooong time and I know what I want as a student. In 1 to 1 classes or in classes with few students it will be possible to adapt to the students' needs. I have a degree in foreign languages and literatures. I studied Spanish literature (of Spain) and postcolonial literature in English, so I can help you with that too. I have experience in teaching the Trinity and Cambridge exams and myself took the TOEFL, IELTS and Trinity. And I am planning to take the DELE C1 in June. Finally, I have a certificate in teaching Italian as a foreign language. MATERIALS Anything! I am from Rome but I am based in London where I work as a Language tutor. I am a passionate and enthusiastic Italian and Spanish Teacher. I... offer language lessons to all levels (A1 - C2) whether you want to improve your language for fun, for your school exams, as a preparation for GCSE, A-Level, or citizenship exams. I have more than two years of experience in teaching Italian and Spanish online both through one to one lessons and in larger classes. I always use supporting digital resources and PP presentations in a very interactive way to make learning grammar clearer and enjoyable. Also, one of my strong points is the creation of clear explanatory tables on grammatical rules. I hold a DITALS qualification (Teaching Italian as a foreign language) from the University of Siena. I studied “LANGUAGE TEACHING L2/LS” and I have been trained at ‘Torre di Babele’, one of the oldest and most renowned Italian schools in Rome. I graduated from La Sapienza University of Rome (Letters and Philosophy 110/110 cum laude), with a thesis which has been in part published in the Italian magazine ‘Teatro e Cinema Contemporaneo’, Magazine number 15 of May 2013. I grew up bilingual having a Spanish-speaker mother from Argentina. I also spent a few months living and working in Barcelona (Spain), where I refined my accent and my grammar. I obtained a Degree in History and... a Master in teaching Italian for foreigners at Università Statale di Milano. I have gained experience in teaching with children and adults of different countries, carrying out lessons in Italy and Spain, both private and group, in presence and online. I use a communicative approach, aimed at "doing in language", avoiding a strictly formal approach, preferring an inductive learning method of a humanistic-affective way, giving absolute centrality to the learner.
