I was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I have been an educator in the Ann Arbor area since 2000. That is when I graduated from the... University of Michigan. Later, I obtained a Master’s Degree in school counseling from Eastern Michigan University. In the years that followed, I taught English, theater, Spanish, and spent ten years as a high school counselor in Ann Arbor. Now, I live near Ann Arbor with my wife, daughter, son, and our dog, Pomzilla. We say he is part Husky, part Pomeranian, and part Godzilla! That's how we made his name. I have lived in the US and Spain and have traveled to South America and Europe. Someday I would also love to visit Asia, Australia, and Africa. When I can, I love to go to baseball games in Detroit, Michigan. I would love to talk to you about your own travels! Or we could discuss where you live, your job, your hobbies, your amazing family, your cute pets, or your future plans. My teaching style is fun and I focus more on conversational English. I love to joke and have fun in lessons. I would also love to work with you on your writing. I used to do a lot of creative writing. I wrote and published a poem, two plays, a screenplay, and a novel. If you are interested, check out my website at www.endinginangels.com . If you have material from school or somewhere else we could work on that together. I am flexible and want to help students however I can. I know that learning a new language can be scary. One group I know I can really help are people applying to universities. You DO NOT have to be in this group to meet with me. This is just one area I know a lot about. Harvard! Stanford! Yale! Duke! Northwestern! And my personal favorite, the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor! Go blue! I have helped hundreds of my students gain admission to these highly selective universities as well as dozens of other schools across the US and around the world, from Ivy League to less selective state schools to community colleges with open admissions! We can discuss the application process, examine possible essay prompts, write/revise essay drafts, and explore strategies for maximizing chance of admission into universities, and look at financial aid. If you are working on SAT or ACT preparation, I can help you with this too! I helped hundreds of students with their college applications. Many of them would go on to the University of Michigan or Washtenaw Community College in our city, while others went to Oregon, UCLA, MIT, Brown, Ohio State, and many other great colleges. I believe I can use my expertise to help you improve your writing and conversation skills. We can talk about applying to universities, or about your trip to Australia last year, or your apartment in Paris, or your job as a scuba diver, or movies, or your grandmother, or your dog, or your future trip to Mars! I can’t wait to meet you!

Greetings! My name is Hasan and I am a 21-year-old English Language Teaching student at the Süleyman Demirel University. I've been teaching... online for nearly a year and have a passion for learning new languages and cultures. In my spare time, I enjoy reading books and watching movies and television shows in various languages. I enjoy making people laugh and spreading joy because I am an outgoing person. In addition to my personal and academic pursuits, I am dedicated to assisting my students in achieving their language-learning goals. I strive to provide a fun and engaging learning environment for all of my students because I believe that learning a new language should be a rewarding and enjoyable experience for all of them. Furthermore, I make an effort to be accessible and responsive to any questions or concerns that my students may have, and I am always on the lookout for novel and creative teaching strategies that will help my students succeed. Before getting into the lesson, we'll start by getting to know each other. Then, after we've looked at your needs, we'll figure out where you need the most help. We will collaborate to transform these blunders into useful tools for communication that you can confidently employ in real-world interactions. I will provide a variety of interactive and stimulating activities to help you develop your language skills. Speaking, listening, reading, and writing practice, in my opinion, are all essential for mastering a language. Helping people with English has been both my passion and my career since 2011. I will help you improve your English for your next... (international) exam or to get the edge you need to communicate confidently with colleagues and clients from abroad. As someone who has worked with numerous companies, schools, and organizations in four different countries, I understand the challenges and pitfalls that most learners encounter when asked to function in English. From my own personal experience, I understand that language learning is not an easy task for everyone, especially for people with busy lives. If you use English at work, I can help you to quickly improve your communication skills for your next meeting, presentation, or sales pitch. I have helped professionals improve their English for conducting international business, operating in English-speaking environments, attending meetings, giving presentations, career changes, and other personal or professional objectives. My clientele has included professionals from the private sector, EU institutions, and governmental agencies. My experience also involves working with professionals in various fields like law enforcement, military, and border security. Are you preparing for a language exam? Being an experienced licensed examiner, I can help you reach your exam goals. I have extensive experience in helping learners with university-administered exams as well as international exams including Cambridge, IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC, and TELC, among others. By focusing on the four language skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing), you can be sure that you walk into your exam confidently. Most of my lessons are delivered using the Communicative Approach to language learning in order to provide for maximum learner engagement. While activating known language, learners acquire new vocabulary, collocations, and expressions in a real-life context in addition to improving fluency. Effective error correction, together with grammar revision, will boost your self-confidence in English and give you the edge needed to meet your communicative goals. My lessons extensively incorporate authentic materials in order to make the learning experience as applicable as possible in real-life situations.

Hello World of ESL learners I'm an experienced ESL, ELA, TEFL and TESOL independent teacher and transmedia writer. I began ESL teaching in... 1990, and returned to the field in 2018. I've a decade of combined teaching experience. My CV is a short read: I've made it a 1-pager: it's concise and comprehensive and I strongly suggest you take a look at it to get a comprehensive view on what I bring to the table as an ESL educator. It's important to stress my approach to ESL instructing is learner-centric, so you may have heard many utter this phrase, but is it just semantics, hyperbole to stand out in a crowded space? Well let me elaborate a little bit on learner-centrism as the core value of my approach to ESL teaching: The banking system of education really came into its own in the post-WW2 world and the west began to slowly eliminate the Humboldtian system from its mainframe. My preference is to mimic as far as is practical the Humboldtian and Classical Liberal Arts systems and I incorporate insights from the rich field of ESL research and development. My experience illustrates that organic modes of learning have yielded the best results with reference to capacity, fluency and confidence. Gardner's 'Theory of Multiple Intelligence Centres' is as influential as the aforementioned educational systems, and I include insights learned from the field of ESL development, research and trends. Today English is to the digital age what Latin was to the 3rd century. It is the Lingua Franca of the world and presents an exciting development in the history of languages and human beings communicating from and to almost every corner of the world. It's a great time to be learning English. There's never been a better time to be an ESL learner or teacher, especially if you're a serious lover of languages and language learning! My library of content contains top tier course materials, e.g. programmes developed by Cengage Learning and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. All my course materials conform to global benchmark standards such as the Common Core State Standards (CCSS-USA), International English Language Testing Standards (IELTS - UK, Australia) and the International General Certificate for Secondary Education (IGCSE-UK). My capacities include testing and assessment according to benchmark standards globally recognised such as the aforementioned and also CEFR – Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). Course materials are included in the fees. I deliver my lessons via Zoom, Zhumu or Voov: all three teaching/meeting apps enable learners to join the meeting room right from your browser for your convenience Best, Desiree Lourens

My name is Duscovich Daniele and I am perfectly native in Italian and German. Learning a foreign language is like practicing a sport: to... achieve a good level you have to practice and not to give up at the very first difficulty. It will be necessary to develop various skills, among which: speaking comprehension, reading comprehension, listening comprehension and written expression. A language has to be learnt actively and “lively”: the language should not remain on paper, but you have to breath it, to feel it and to make it your own. To help my students in this “training”, I use material I chose and prepared according to the single cases: grammar exercises, books, grammar books, material found on the Internet, videos, and CDs. Maximum flexibility concerning time and type of course, especially with regard to the objectives to be achieved: upgrading of the language level, conversation, preparation to particular exams, remedial classes for school, etc.

Cheers! My name is Nikos Poulopoulos and I've been teaching Greek (and English) at the University level (Harvard, McGill, UMSL) for the past 15... years. I believe that a key element in pedagogy and language acquisition, whether live in a classroom, or online via e-learning tools and platforms, is keeping the participants highly motivated and as possibly immersed in the elements and the challenges of the new language and culture they are embracing. My personal philosophy of student engagement brings dialogic and performative exercises, visual and cultural titbits, and the much needed digital technology into the (e-)classroom in order to increase learning motivation and efficacy. My objective as a designer of such material is to motivate my students towards a level of linguistic confidence and independence where they gradually develop a desire to learn and think for themselves when they have all the necessary tools at hand.
