I was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I have been an educator in the Ann Arbor area since 2000. That is when I graduated from the... University of Michigan. Later, I obtained a Master’s Degree in school counseling from Eastern Michigan University. In the years that followed, I taught English, theater, Spanish, and spent ten years as a high school counselor in Ann Arbor. Now, I live near Ann Arbor with my wife, daughter, son, and our dog, Pomzilla. We say he is part Husky, part Pomeranian, and part Godzilla! That's how we made his name. I have lived in the US and Spain and have traveled to South America and Europe. Someday I would also love to visit Asia, Australia, and Africa. I will also have a presentation of materials that will be able to hear the pronunciation of words and allow students a chance to do presentations as well. I would integrate scenarios when the student feels ready is to role-play and he or she will imagine they are working in the industry as employees or workers in the hospital, hotel, and restaurant. This way they can be attuned to what is expected of them in customer relations settings. Another method to communicate with others is the social media by posting comments on Facebook, Wiki spaces, and Twitter. My experience illustrates that organic modes of learning have yielded the best results with reference to capacity, fluency and confidence.
