I can help you to improve your English language skills. Writing good emails, composing a convincing CV or application, with all these aspects I... can assist you. I can offer support for a better understanding of English grammar, and can help you to enlarge your vocabulary, and to improve your pronunciation. I also proofread and translate texts for a variety of businesses and professionals (from English to Dutch and from Dutch to English). NT2-lessons The Dutch language lessons might concern the same topics, but NT2 (Dutch as second language) lessons usually focus on the basics of the language (listening, speaking, conversation, reading, writing) related to everyday language use (think of meeting people, sending emails, shopping etc.). This is conform the A2-level, tested in the Dutch Inburgering exam. If you want to study Dutch for work or study you will need B1-level (Staatsexamen-NT2 I) or B2-level (Staatsexamen-NT2 II). Understandability is always what matters not a perfect use of grammar (although this aspect is not unimportant). Sources For my lessons I usually select a book (from a well-known publisher) that matches your wishes. This way all important ingredients of langage learning (listening, reading, writing and speaking) will be covered. If necessary I will look for additional materials, which will garantee a custom-made approach. Background I have studied English Language & Culture at Leiden University (BA en MA) and have much experience as a lecturer at Delft University of Technology. I also teached at a secondary school (ISK, Internationale Schakelklas) in Delft. For many years now I have provided lessons (for both groups and individuals) groepslessen, I coach students with their thesis writing (which includes students with dyslexia) with good results. To book a lesson Every student is welcome. In the years that I have been teaching Dutch and English I helped people from a variety of backgrounds such as French, Dutch, English, Italian, Spanish, Turkish, Arabic (Morocco, Syria), Polish, and Ukrainian. I speak and understand some of these languages; if not, we use English as a bridge language. If you would like to book a lesson, just contact me. Then we can book a lesson for you together. The availability shown on the website gives you an indication and may differ from week to week. The number of lessons depends on your goal. If you want to improve a single topic or prepare yourself or an upcoming Staatsexamen than 1 lesson or 4 lessons will be a good choice. If you want to study a whole ERK-level from, say, A0 to A1 or from B1 to B2 than you will need more lessons. Read more

As a graduate of the Catholic University of Leuven in language and literature and with my teacher training degree, I can help you unravel our... Dutch language. Whether you have questions about sentence parsing, literature, spelling or whatever: together we keep looking until you get it all! During class, and therefore also with you, I like an open, interactive learning environment: we discover the theory together, and then put it into practice, preferably in the most fun way possible. We do that with all kinds of exercises of every kind. This way we always turn it into a great lesson! Read more
Hi! I am Maaike, a Dutch primary school teacher. Every day I'm doing by best to teach the Dutch language well to the childeren, but also other... languages such as English and Spanish. I have more than 12 years of experience as a teacher, in the Netherlands and abroad, to young and old! In the Netherlands I have experience in each grade, so I know exactly how the Dutch language is given in primary education. This can certainly help children, but also adults who want to learn the Dutch language in a correct way, having a good basic knowledge is the most important part of learning a new language. I lived in Spain for 3 years where I taught English to Spanish children and adults. During that period I also followed an intensive language course to learn the Spanish language. Currently I am learning Nepali through Skype. I know what it is like to learn a new language, what it involves and how the learning process works. I will first discuss with you what you would like to achieve by following the language lessons and what your needs are. Maybe it's just speaking skills, or grammar or listening skills, or a combination. In addition, I want to use my creativity to apply methods that work best for you, personalized language classes. :) My goal is to give you the feeling after each class that you've come one step closer to your personal goal! Feel free to request a trial class, so we can see what I can do for you and if my way of teaching suits you. See you soon! :) Read more
Hello, My name is Linda. Born and raised in the Netherlands, but I have been speaking English for most of my life. I started teaching and... tutoring English in Thailand in 2003 and have been teaching English on and off since. I have also taught Graphic Design and other creative subjects at University level for 10 years, all in English. Due to the various languages I have learnt; Dutch, English, German, Spanish and a little French and Thai, I am also very aware of overcoming challenges as a student. My teaching style is flexible as I try to find a way that is tailored to the individual student, my creativity and experience on “both sides of the fence” strengthen this ability. Teaching in Asia has taught me to make classes fun. I look forward to meeting you and help you start or better your English. Best, Linda. Read more
