Hello! My name is Zuzi, and I am a native English speaker from Durban, South Africa. I have a bachelor's degree in child and youth care development, and I am also a certified TEFL educator. I enjoy reading books, writing poetry, cooking vegan meals, and engaging in social issues. I am driven and I enjoy new challenges. I love learning new languages and engaging with different cultures. I currently work as a homeschool teacher where I have been teaching children between the ages of 3 and 6 for two years now. I have also worked as a volunteer youth facilitator for 7 years, teaching ESL and conversational English to teenagers, adults, Camp America, and au pair candidates. As a part of the program, I have facilitated and taught leadership skills to children from at-risk environments. I have created various student-centered curricula to address my students' individual needs and to ensure that they learn and thrive. I teach basic English as well as conversational practice. My lessons are geared towards my students' needs. I want my students to have confidence when they speak English. Asking questions is an important part of learning, and I will encourage my students to ask questions and also assure them that making mistakes is a part of the process. I hope to create a fun and engaging environment to assist my students on their learning journey.
