I am a friendly, passionate, energetic and enthusiastic tutor with 1 year volunteer tutoring experience in English and chemistry. I am caring, helpful, patient and passionate about helping students excel academically; Well-organized, focused and diligent about exploring concepts with diverse strategies to maximize understanding. I am TEFL-certified; knowledgeable in teaching ESL methods and classroom activating techniques.

I like to make my lessons fun and relaxed, I use props and physical response to illustrate what I am saying hence its easier for the learner to understand what I am saying. I understand everyone has a general understanding of the world so I use that to my advantage to try and create a common field between me and the student, where we can talk about things the student knows and understands.

I also like to learn about the student background such as where they come from in a quest to learn about their culture as well as make the student feel free to use their own words in describing what they are familiar with.

Furthermore, I like to create a personalized , goal-oriented learning plan (which I usually discuss with the student during the first lesson to get their input) for each individual student, this way its easier to help each student reach his/her learning goal conveniently faster, it also helps me be able to assess the student's weaknesses and shortcomings with regard to the language so we can focus on improving those parts first.

Activities in my lessons usually include constructing a sentence using your own words, this gives students the opportunity to use the language they are learning, reading articles where possible, which gives the student exposure to the language, matching words with pictures to familiarize the student with the words and what they mean. I also encourage spelling and grammar through writing.
