Hi, I’m Ben from London in the UK. I’m 26 years old and I’m a CELTA* qualified teacher.

I have a lot of experience in classrooms, helping people of all ages, from 70 all the way down to 1 year old. From students who were complete English beginners, to very advanced students. In particular, I have 3 years of experience teaching Japanese people in Japan and in London. I know the parts of English Japanese people find difficult, and I know how to help you. For example, if you struggle with your pronunciation, we can focus on that. If you’re not Japanese, of course I still know how to help you improve your English!

I have three big strengths as a teacher.

One, I am very clear, so I can help you understand new grammar and vocabulary easily and quickly. I’ll help you understand your mistakes.

Two, I love having interesting discussions with students. I studied philosophy at university, and for more advanced students I love creating real discussions where you can use English while thinking.

Three, I make my lessons personal. If you book several classes on iTalki, I’ll keep records of your progress, areas to improve and a new vocabulary list. We can also focus on your own specific goals and topics you’re interested in.
