I would like to introduce myself. My name is Gialt and I am from the Netherlands. Since my move to Madrid in 2006 I have been working as an English teacher. In the past I studied theatre and arts which helps me in the English teaching. Motivating skills, passing knowledge, empathy and understanding the student's needs are essential elements in the language teaching environment. I took the CELTA course and a Young Learners course at IH Madrid. I have been teaching young learners, teens and adults. I gave workshops (e.g. presentations, speaking clearly, negotiating & meetings) and I was teacher/monitor in summer camps. But mostly I teach adults in-company. I teach all levels, from A2 to C2.
I am also acquainted with on-line teaching.
I have experience in using different methods such as Task Based Learning and ESA (Engage Study Activate).
In the one-to-one/group course I usually plan the course according to the student's needs and goals, using a huge amount of material that I have gathered over time.
I use on-line sources, talks, clips, pics, songs... just name it and I turn it into learning material. I add these sources to the more traditional way of teaching; the book (e.g. Outcomes, Speak Up, Keynote)
