I graduated from Sapienza University of Rome and I have a “Laurea” degree (Old Italian university system-4 years) in Foreign Languages and Literatures (Japanese and Chinese) , a teaching qualification (Ditals II) and more than 20 years of experience teaching Italian to individual and groups in Italy, Japan and Australia.
I organize my lessons, plan my activities and develop my management approaches by considering the learning styles, abilities and needs of my students. I don't teach just grammar in a traditional way but I try to provide opportunities for my students to engage in real-life communication in
Italian. I believe that it is important for a foreign language teacher to inspire confidence in his/her students in order to make them feel comfortable expressing themselves regardless of their level of ability.
My teaching is careful, considered, passionate and energetic. I believe very strongly that teachers who demonstrate curiosity and passion about the topic motivate students to learn and somebody should only teach if they enjoy doing it.
My teaching evolves with my continuing experience in the classroom. For me it is a learning activity and I have learned from my personal successes and failures. I love teaching, and I am constantly amazed by what I learn from my students.
