Conversation classes with a native and verified teacher
Exam preparation with online classes and lessons from a certified teacher: Italian - CILS
Private and group Italian language lessons for foreigners, online. Hi, I am an Italian language teacher for foreigners. During the summer I work... as an Italian teacher in Taormina in my B&B. A good solution for those who want to learn Italian for passion, for work or for study. I am a qualified and experienced teacher. I love teaching and this type of work, I have been employed in several Italian schools both in my country and abroad. I think online learning is a good way to study a language, especially for those who want to deepen the conversation, because with the Internet you will seem to be present and speak in a real class. Taking language lessons online is different than taking a course in a real class, it could be more difficult and boring, but I always try to make fun lessons with conversations and a communicative method. I use material from the books I use at language schools. During the lessons I will send you study material and exercises online. Online lessons are done with Skype, webcam and microphone. It is important to have an Internet connection at home and the Skype program with a webcam and microphone. (If not, you can download it for free on the Internet). Before starting the lessons we can also use Skype to get to know each other. The following rules apply to private online lessons: Before starting the lessons I will send you (2 \ 3 days before) a level test with the Internet, to check your proficiency and the level of the Italian language. In this way I will guarantee you your language level and we will start lessons from this level with themes and grammar adapted to your skills. The levels are 6 (from beginner to the highest) Private Italian language lessons for foreigners online: 1. Grammar lessons: 1 hour lesson, during which we will deepen the grammar rules with exercises . This course is perfect for everyone: for those who do not know the language or for those who are studying Italian and want to learn more about this subject or for a university student who wants to improve his study and skills. 2. Conversation lessons: 1 hour of lessons, during which we will deepen the conversation and the spoken language. We will practice the language by speaking together. In each class the topic of the conversation will be different and made in order to deepen a thematic area. I will help you solve your problems and doubts when you try to speak the language. This course is perfect for those who study Italian and have a basic level of Italian. For those who just want to practice the language without deepening their grammar. 3. Mixed grammar and conversation lessons: 1 hour lesson in which we will do grammar and conversation. This is the most complete course for learning the language well.In each class we will study a grammatical topic with rules and exercises. We will apply grammar to spoken language practice with oral exercises. This course is perfect for everyone: for those who do not know the language or for those who study Italian. 4. Sectoral Italian: 1 hour of lessons to deepen a specific language, a course suitable for those who work and need to deepen their studies and skills in Italian for work reasons. This course is perfect for those who study Italian and have a basic level. In all 4 online courses I use material taken from the books I use in schools. During the lessons I will send you study material and exercises online. Group classes (small groups). This type of course is more fun and dynamic. Various didactic activities can be done, more effective and also cheaper. Read more

Ciao a tutti! My name is Laura and I am a freelance Italian teacher and translator based in Berlin. I come from Bari - a small town in... southern Italy - where I graduated in foreign languages and literature before coming to Berlin four years ago. As a linguist and lover of the Italian language, I immediately tried teaching Italian, and I can definitely say that it was a successful idea :) Me and my student we´ll deal with different kind of communicative situations and I´ll give them the opportunity to talk as much as he can in order to have the closest approach to the language. During my years of teaching I noticed how often some linguistic skills are trained more than others/are preferred over others, giving less space to first and closest linguistic experience that certainly occurs with the speaking. This is the reason why my teaching method wanted to experience a change of course, that focused exactly on the student´s ability of speaking till the final analyze of the conversation from a lexical and grammatical point of view. For the basic levels we start from the very first forms of conversation and speaking exercise, such as self presentation, describing an object or talking about one's hobbies or favourite book, with the grammar and vocabulary involved. Once the student acquires a primary familiarity with the language, I´d let the student keep training with more speaking exercises, first with communicative situations in which we come across daily like ordering something in a bar, asking for directions or organizing a weekend out ´til he/she´ll able to express his/her opinion and to have pure and free conversation on various topics, such as nature, technology, the academic and working world, telling about his/her travels or even on actual world news. On request I can even provide material on our funny dialectal forms, different from region to region :) I´d be happy to support you in this learning challenge. Hope to hear back from you soon! Sincerely, Laura Read more

Professional Synopsis I have always been inspired by a great passion for teaching languages and learning about different cultures. I started... studying English when I was a child, first at school, together with French language, then at university and abroad during my study holidays. I studied not only British and American English at university in Rome, but also French and Spanish. I taught English for the first time to Italian students when I was at university and then I gained experience also with adults. I help adults if they need translations of texts and theses or support in the preparation of exams, papers and theses and in their business. I tutored students in view of exams, taught intensive English courses and gave one on one grammar and conversational lessons. I have also experience as a translator and interpreter as I worked in multinational companies like Finmeccanica and Oracle. I’m a registered journalist with over 15 years of experience. I always say to my students: “If you study languages you’ll be very happy when you visit foreign countries and realize that you understand what people say and local people understand what you are looking for!” Education DEGREE IN MODERN FOREIGN LANGUAGES AND LITERATURE (English, French, Spanish) – Università degli studi Roma Tor Vergata MASTER IN HUMAN RESOURCES – Irisform, Rome Study holidays in summer in the cities of Paris, Geneva, London, Sheffield, Dublin, Valencia Read more

Ciao. My name is Sara and I am here to use my 10 years of teaching experience to help you succeed in your dream. For the last 4 years I have... been teaching Italian language to students in a top 3 Pontifical University in Rome, Italy. I was born in Rome, Italy and I graduated from the University of Rome, La Sapienza, with a degree in Asian Studies and Cultures. I hold a Master in Teaching Italian Language: Didactic Methods and Techniques. In 2006 I moved to Japan where I worked as an Italian teacher for two years. I also have Ditals II, Teaching Italian as a Foreign language Certification. I prefer to speak Italian during my lesson even if my students are beginners. So it means that you'll speak Italian since the first lesson :-) I use different platforms such as: Classkick Wordwall Kahoot and Google Classroom where you'll find the materials we use during the class and assignments for the next class. I’m a passionate Italian food and art lover so whether you're reading biographical information about the brilliant painter Caravaggio, or figuring out how to cook some of your favorite Italian dishes, learning Italian with me is simply essential. I am proud of my culture and I love to share my language and upbringing with my students. Read more

Hi! I am Sara, I live in Barolo, the home of wine, and I have been teaching Italian to foreigners in Piedmont and online for over 20... years. After graduating in Foreign Languages and Literature (I speak English, German, French and Spanish) I took a master to become an "Italian Language for Foreigners" taecher. Having learnt 4 languages myself, I know how difficult it is! But in the meantime I discovered the most effective trick for learning vocabulary and sentence structure quickly: the socalled 'natural method'. How does it work? I immediately speak (almost) only Italian with my students! It is a true full immersion into Italian language and culture where with the help of songs, recipes, magazines and advertisements we learn even the most complicated grammar rules. Dont get me wrong: I love grammar but I want it to be fun! Want to speak Italian like an Italian? Contact me! Punto e basta :D. See you soon! Sara Read more

I am not an improvised teacher, but I can improvise. PERSONAL STATEMENT I simply love foreign languages and cultures! In my career I have... studied English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German and Russian. Though only for a month, it still counts! I am fluent in English and almost there in Spanish. I have good command of Portuguese and can get away with French and German. So, if you are a beginner in English or Italian I can help you in your mother tongue (if it's one of those mentioned above, obviously). I have an Italian and an international teaching licences and 10 years' experience teaching English. METHODS(+experience) My teaching methods change according to the students. In classes of teenagers and adults I prefer using the inductive method, that is to say presenting the students with texts and have them discover the structure of the language. That is a great way for students to easily remember how the language works. It is considered the best method nowadays, still it is not the best in all circumstances. I have studied languages for a loooong time and I know what I want as a student. In 1 to 1 classes or in classes with few students it will be possible to adapt to the students' needs. I have a degree in foreign languages and literatures. I studied Spanish literature (of Spain) and postcolonial literature in English, so I can help you with that too. I have experience in teaching the Trinity and Cambridge exams and myself took the TOEFL, IELTS and Trinity. And I am planning to take the DELE C1 in June. Finally, I have a certificate in teaching Italian as a foreign language. MATERIALS Anything! In class I use the textbook to remain on track but I like my students to experience the culture of the language they are studying directly thorough the so-called authentic materials: songs, literature (novels, plays, poems, etc.), articles, films, social media...anything, I said! NATIVE: Italian STUDIES: Adria, Italy - High school: English, French & German Venice, Italy - University (Foreign Languages and Literatures): English, Spanish & Portuguese Brigthon, England - Erasmus at Sussex University Venice, Italy - CEDILS (Certificazione in didattica dell'italiano a stranieri) Venice, Italy - Teaching licence in Italian state schools (TFA) Derry, Northern Ireland - CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) WORK EXPERIENCE Venice, Italy - 9 years teaching ESL and literature in state schools Córdoba, Spain - 1 year (current) teaching ESL in an International House, private school Read more

I am from Rome but I am based in London where I work as a Language tutor. I am a passionate and enthusiastic Italian and Spanish Teacher. I... offer language lessons to all levels (A1 - C2) whether you want to improve your language for fun, for your school exams, as a preparation for GCSE, A-Level, or citizenship exams. I have more than two years of experience in teaching Italian and Spanish online both through one to one lessons and in larger classes. I always use supporting digital resources and PP presentations in a very interactive way to make learning grammar clearer and enjoyable. Also, one of my strong points is the creation of clear explanatory tables on grammatical rules. I hold a DITALS qualification (Teaching Italian as a foreign language) from the University of Siena. I studied “LANGUAGE TEACHING L2/LS” and I have been trained at ‘Torre di Babele’, one of the oldest and most renowned Italian schools in Rome. I graduated from La Sapienza University of Rome (Letters and Philosophy 110/110 cum laude), with a thesis which has been in part published in the Italian magazine ‘Teatro e Cinema Contemporaneo’, Magazine number 15 of May 2013. I grew up bilingual having a Spanish-speaker mother from Argentina. I also spent a few months living and working in Barcelona (Spain), where I refined my accent and my grammar. In addition to this, I took Spanish at university passing the language exam with 30/30. I teach Spanish, applying my own successful method to the lessons. I always plan in advance my lessons very carefully. I would be pleased to know whether you would like to learn Italian or Spanish and build the lessons around useful programs for your exams or topics that might interest you, following the goals you might be interested in. I believe in the Communicative Method I have been trained for, and I really think it is easier to learn new languages if you have a good time doing it. Read more

Ciao!! My name is Silvia and I am an Italian Linguist. I was born and brought up in Italy in the beautiful island of Sardinia and from a very... young age my biggest dream was travelling the world, meeting new people, learning new languages and cultures. At the age of sixteen I moved to the States with an exchange student programme and lived there for a whole year. After achieving an American High school diploma I went on a coast to coast trip and got caught by the travel bug. After a BAhons in Foreign Languages and Literature at the University of Cagliari, a scholarship in Aarhus, Denmark and a brief stay in Germany, I took what was meant to be a year break to travel while working in the airline industry. However, 12 years later I was still living the dream of discovering new parts of the world while working as a flight attendant. I travelled widely across Europe first and then across the rest of the world experiencing first-hand how your culture, traditions, lifestyle, habits that you learn from the people you live and interact with, determine the nature of the way you think, and also shapes the way you talk. I therefore decided to embark on a new adventure and started a MSc degree in Scientific, Medical and Technical Translations with Translation Technology at The Imperial College in London. This was an amazing journey that strengthen my passion for languages and my belief that bilingualism especially from a young age is very important in enhancing and developing cognitive ability. I am now married, my husband is also Italian and perfectly bilingual. I have two children who are also being brought up bilingual. As a mum now but also as a linguist, language tutor, interpreter and translator, I truly believe that the best way of learning a language is through passion, immersion and a positive spirit! I have studied all the major teaching methods and styles and as a language tutor I always seek to understand individual needs and objectives. I value the importance of my students' personal experience and knowledge and I believe live and personalised communication is at the base of my teaching style: a communicative and TPR approach. Language learning comes through communicating real meaning and interaction. To effectively achieve this, during my sessions all types of resources , from games to music, textbooks, videos and audio tracks and much more are utilised in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Hi everyone!! I am Stefania, an enthusiastic and curious 33-year-old Language Teacher who lives in Bologna. I adore travelling, cooking and... getting to know new people, languages and cultures. I am a passionate and charismatic communicator who really enjoys storytelling and sharing. I would define my teaching philosophy to be personalised, interactive and based on posing questions and fostering critical thinking rather than on giving answers in the first place. I believe in the importance of repetition and focus on all 4 areas of competence, for example choosing a subject and adressing it through listenings, writing of texts, readings, speaking activities (role plays & simulations) so that the vocabulary and language structures can be dealt with under different perspectives and repeated / practiced and corrected enough to be memorised in authentic contexts. The use of visuals (images, colors, video etc.), games, mind maps and summary tables can also extremely helpful. Last but not least, I will concentrate on specific requests, needs, strenghts, weaknesses etc. and we will be able to define specific objectives together while having a precise idea of how long it will take to reach our goals. Well, I am really looking forward to getting to know you very soon ;) Read more

Ciao everyone, I'm Arianna, I'm 29 years old and I live in Berlin! In March 2020 I graduated with honors in "Italian Language and Culture for... Foreigners" (master course at the University of Bologna). I have been teaching Italian to foreigners for 2 years, first in Italy and now in Berlin, where I have been living for a few months. In addition to the Italian language, I have a C1 in English and German, which I teach regularly in public schools. My teaching methods are focussed on the student and his/her needs, in line with the latest teaching guidelines. I use a communicative approach, based on the use of the language in a given context, from which I gradually extrapolate the grammatical rules (in an inductive way). This allows me to create a relaxed environment, without stress or anxiety, where the student is free to enjoy learning in a comfortable and useful way. The materials I prefer are of all kinds, authentic or not, videos, lyrics, songs, articles, games, but in general I follow a textbook to ensure logical continuity to the learning path. The materials are provided by me! Teaching is one of the real passions of my life, what makes me feel fulfilled is helping the student to achieve his or her goals, whatever they may be. Read more

Hello everyone! I offer ITALIAN lessons for all levels. I'm Mauro, a 28 year old boy, Italian native speaker. I obtained a Degree in History and... a Master in teaching Italian for foreigners at Università Statale di Milano. I have gained experience in teaching with children and adults of different countries, carrying out lessons in Italy and Spain, both private and group, in presence and online. I use a communicative approach, aimed at "doing in language", avoiding a strictly formal approach, preferring an inductive learning method of a humanistic-affective way, giving absolute centrality to the learner. As reference text I have "Nuovo Espresso 1" (ALMA Edizioni), but I use materials of various kinds, according to different needs, including Whatsapp chats, comments on social networks, song lyrics etc. The idea is to awake your inner Italian personality to interact in ITALIAN language. I graduated from Sapienza University of Rome and I have a “Laurea” degree (Old Italian university system-4 years) in Foreign Languages and... Literatures (Japanese and Chinese) , a teaching qualification (Ditals II) and more than 20 years of experience teaching Italian to individual and groups in Italy, Japan and Australia. I organize my lessons, plan my activities and develop my management approaches by considering the learning styles, abilities and needs of my students. I don't teach just grammar in a traditional way but I try to provide opportunities for my students to engage in real-life communication in Italian. I believe that it is important for a foreign language teacher to inspire confidence in his/her students in order to make them feel comfortable expressing themselves regardless of their level of ability. My teaching is careful, considered, passionate and energetic. I believe very strongly that teachers who demonstrate curiosity and passion about the topic motivate students to learn and somebody should only teach if they enjoy doing it. My teaching evolves with my continuing experience in the classroom. For me it is a learning activity and I have learned from my personal successes and failures. I love teaching, and I am constantly amazed by what I learn from my students. Read more
