Very experienced teacher!
Hi everyone! My name is Georgia and I am a foreign languages tutor. I come from Greece and I currently live in Germany for the past 3 years. I... am graduate of German Literature at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and I have also successfully completed one academic year at the University of Hamburg in Germany. Having chosen Linguistics/ Teaching as a specialty, I have been equipped with a lot of knowledge and techniques to teach German as a foreign language. In my bachelor I also chose Spanish as a Second language. As part of my studies, I successfully completed a two-month internship at two public schools in Greece. My teaching experience starts from 2010 until today, through mainly private lessons, usually one by one, also in groups, as well as in class. I am using series of books that make the lesson as enjoyable and practical as possible, as well as techniques and material depending on the needs and goals of the student, to make learning as easy as possible. The lesson with me is flexible and our goal is always for the student to reach the desired goal. I invite you to take a trial lesson with me! :) Read more
I am a certified TestDaF and telc examiner. I specialise in test preparation. I offer both general and intensive German language courses, and... specific classes of grammar, conversation, writing, test preparation and interview preparation. My focus is on intermediate and advanced German learners, who need a higher level of accuracy and fluency in terms of exposition, argumentation and self-expression. I had been teaching German at one of leading language schools in Berlin for over six years. I hold a Magister (German equivalent to the master's degree) in Germanistics (German language, literature, and history) from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (2001) and a teaching certificate of German as a foreign language from Goethe-Institut München (2010). Before becoming a language teacher, I was a journalist for six years at a local newspaper in Potsdam. Language lessons can be fun, but language-learning is certainly time-consuming and occasionally frustrating. I am therefore aiming at establishing collaborative relationships with my clients to keep them inspired and motivated throughout the journey. It would be a great honour and pleasure for me to participate in your language and/or career project. I look forward to working together with you! ❗️Please note that hourly rates fluctuate due to the changing demand, high inflation and foreseeable recession. Sorry for the inconvenience. Read more
I am a PhD holder in German studies from the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany, and I have been teaching German and the subjects related... to German language, culture and literature for more than 20 years. At the same time, I led intensive German courses (DaF) for students who started with German from scratch and needed to be prepared for their studies in Germany. I started teaching during my studies at university. Most of the jobs I was given back then involved working with teenagers and adults. It was a challenge for me but I loved it! Later on, I spent 16 years in Southeast Asia, where I worked at various universities and gained enormous experience in working with multiethnic and multicultural groups. Apart from that, I also had the opportunity to participate in the development of study programs. In addition to German, I communicate in English, Czech, Russian and I speak a tiny bit of Malay. We all are different learners and we shall find the most suitable way for ourselves! At the beginning of my teaching career, I considered being a non-native German speaker as my weakness. However, growing experience in teaching and co-working with German mother tongue speakers, I realized that it is actually my strength. I went through the whole process of learning German from zero to the highest level, which included all sorts of fun, confusions and frustrations. That’s why I understand the needs, progress and questions of my students very well. Read more
