Dear Students, I am a native Standard-German speaker, translator (English-German-Spanish), language manager and teacher holding certificates in... various languages, translating, teaching, interpreting and in creative writing with six years of teaching and three years of translating, transcribing, proofreading, voice-over experience.I offer patient, fun, interesting, efficient, flexible and individual German online and face-to-face lessons for all levels and needs as well as exam preparations. My long and vast experience in studying various and different languages such as English, Spanish, French, Hindi, Arabic, Korean, Indonesian, Turkish, Greek, Italian... enabled me to gain a profound understanding of the acquisition of languages, their differences and similarities as well as the best teaching tools and ways of learning languages in general. Furthermore, I like to conduct my lessons in a modern and diversified way, using different kinds of material and media such as journals, radio programs, movies, photos, videos, books and thus encouraging creative dealing with the language through projects and presentations in order to provide variety and interesting lessons and prevent monotonous and tedious lessons. I am a certified TestDaF and telc examiner. I specialise in test preparation. I offer both general and intensive German language courses, and... specific classes of grammar, conversation, writing, test preparation and interview preparation. My focus is on intermediate and advanced German learners, who need a higher level of accuracy and fluency in terms of exposition, argumentation and self-expression. I had been teaching German at one of leading language schools in Berlin for over six years. I hold a Magister (German equivalent to the master's degree) in Germanistics (German language, literature, and history) from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (2001) and a teaching certificate of German as a foreign language from Goethe-Institut München (2010). Before becoming a language teacher, I was a journalist for six years at a local newspaper in Potsdam. I am a PhD holder in German studies from the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany, and I have been teaching German and the subjects related... to German language, culture and literature for more than 20 years. At the same time, I led intensive German courses (DaF) for students who started with German from scratch and needed to be prepared for their studies in Germany. I started teaching during my studies at university. Most of the jobs I was given back then involved working with teenagers and adults. It was a challenge for me but I loved it! Later on, I spent 16 years in Southeast Asia, where I worked at various universities and gained enormous experience in working with multiethnic and multicultural groups. Apart from that, I also had the opportunity to participate in the development of study programs. In addition to German, I communicate in English, Czech, Russian and I speak a tiny bit of Malay. We all are different learners and we shall find the most suitable way for ourselves! At the beginning of my teaching career, I considered being a non-native German speaker as my weakness. However, growing experience in teaching and co-working with German mother tongue speakers, I realized that it is actually my strength. I went through the whole process of learning German from zero to the highest level, which included all sorts of fun, confusions and frustrations.
