Hello Everyone, My name is my Maya Marriott-Semper and I am a CELTA qualified Teacher of English as a Foreign Language. I am also a final year... student at the University of Kent, studying anthropology. I have been teaching since 2018. I've taught Chinese children online and 1 to 1. I have been a volunteer English teacher in a school in Spanish teaching 4 to 16 year olds for a month. I was planning to work in a Summer camp as English Teacher and Activity Leader, this unfortunately got cancelled due to covid-19. I have also taught children with Barracuadas Activity Day Camps as a Fencing Instructor and Group Assistant. I am also an avid language learner myself and am passionate to impart this joy on my students. As an experienced online teacher I make use of lots of TPR and props where necessary. You will win if you don't quit. When I was in elementary school I had trouble focusing in reading and math. I didn't understand the reason for... being in school. I was diagnosed with ADD and was scheduled to work with may tutors and counselors. It was not until after I was held back in 2nd grade and was about to fail out of school in the 7th grade that I really found the true reason for focus. I learned that I was a hands on learner and I learned to create a formula for all of my studies since memorizing information was not easy. I ended up graduating with honors and most improved and with that feeling of great success I achieved more success. But if I had a tutor back then that I could honesty relate to that was with me every step of the way, I do believe I would have understood subjects at an earlier age.
