During my studies of Educational/Pedagogical Sciences I learned the importance of teaching. I did my major in educational research with a specialization in learning difficulties. When my master started I wanted to transform my theoretical knowledge into practice. I became a monitor for disabled children for the organization ‘Rock for Specials’. Although the job was intense, it was a very satisfying and rewarding experience.
I decided to go for a foreign internship, because I was very interested in international education and how the learning standards differ from my home country. I went to Ecuador, where I was a teacher in a local private school in Quito. I gave workshops in this school, attended lectures and observed other local schools. I also did some volunteer work in a local school in Belgium where I monitored children with learning difficulties and their homework.
Because of my curricular and extracurricular experiences I am able to teach all grades, from kindergarten until adult education. In high school I attended the most extensive English program available. During my international experiences I got the chance to further develop my English. Therefore, I speak English fluently and obtained a high verbal level as well. Dutch is my native tongue. I
I always work with a number of learning materials which I will share before or during the online lesson. I prefer to work with google docs. This is easier to share documents, to make exercises together, to address difficulties, ...
I also offer a free trial lesson each time, in which I can form a clear picture of the level and objectives of the students. During this lesson questions can also be asked to myself. Furthermore, I can always offer homework and exercises for those who wish.
