Olá! My name is Erica. I am a native speaker of European Portuguese.
I hold a degree in Modern Languages and Literature from the University of Coimbra, one of the oldest universities in continuous operation in the world, the oldest university of Portugal and one of its largest higher education and research institutions. It hosts one of the largest communities of international students in Portugal and it is the most cosmopolitan Portuguese university. I speak English, French, Spanish and Italian. Being myself a foreign language student, I can relate to students' difficulties in learning a foreign language. I have experience (more than ten years) teaching English, French and Portuguese as a Foreign Language; I have worked in schools, companies and also online in Portugal, Italy and Spain.
In my free time I enjoy travelling, reading, dancing (especially Brazilian and Angolan music!), singing, and playing with my dogs. I also love cinema, theatre and photography.
I love being in contact with different cultures and sharing my passion for my country and our beautiful capital, Lisbon, one of the oldest cities in the world; for our language -Spanish author Miguel de Cervantes once called it "the sweet and gracious language”- and for the lusophone world in general (people who are culturally and linguistically linked to Portugal, either historically or by choice).
Portuguese is the sixth most spoken language worldwide, spoken by about 200 million people on four continents: it is the official language of Portugal, Brazil, Mozambique, Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, and São Tomé and Príncipe; it also has co-official language status in Macau, Equatorial Guinea and East Timor. As the result of expansion during colonial times, Portuguese speakers are also found in Goa, Daman and Diu in India, and in Malacca in Malaysia. Join us!

I teach: English, Portuguese, International
Hi everyone! My name is Francisco and I have a passion for languages. I'm a native speaker of Portuguese (Brazilian) and proficient... user of English. My first degree is a Bachelor of Philosophy. I lived in Australia for a couple of years and there have I not only learnt English, but also the language merged deeply in me. I came back to Brazil, where I'm currently living, and started to teach it. Since then, I have helped those who want to learn English as much as those who want to speak Portuguese. At the moment I study Germanistic and ancient Greek at the University of São Paulo. I consider myself to be someone very patient, open-minded and flexible, who is always willing to discover and inspire others through language learning/thinking. Learning a new language is a journey of self-discovery and reinvention at the same time. If you want to learn Portuguese or English, I'm here to offer you my view, suggestions and guidance through fun and interesting learning. “The boundaries of my language mean the boundaries of my world.” L. Wittgeinstein Hope to hear from you soon! Read more
