I am a native speaker of Russian and currently live with my family in Graz, Austria. After successful graduation form the department of slavonic... languages (with a main focus on Bulgarian and Russian) of the state university of St.Petersburg, Russia, I moved to Munich, Germany, in order to improve my knowledge especially in the field of theoretical and practical phonetics. I obtained my MA from the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich in slavonic languages, phonetics and psycholinguistics. After my graduation I worked for several years as a scientific researcher and teacher at the Institute of Phonetics and Speech Processing in Munich and at the Institute of Germanic Studies at the Otto-Friedrich-University of Bamberg. After I had given birth to a son, I started to teach Russian, Bulgarian and German to students with different language skills and goals. Because of my education I am skilled to submit a qualified introduction to phonetics of Russian and Bulgarian as well as to offer a learning program which covers individual language needs of a student. Generally, it is especially important for me to see my students actively involved into the learning process. Besides, I am aiming at following rather strict methodological principles as well as at regular controlling of the acquired language skills during the lessons and as a homework. Specifically I am aiming at overcoming speaking barriers of the students, e.g., I would like to encourage the communicative aspect of teaching. However, I am aware of the importance of grammatical studies during the lessons. I am proficient in online-tools and can perform a digital course of Russian or Bulgarian languages. My lessons can take place in German, English, Russian or Bulgarian. Read more

Hello everyone and a big warm welcome to all the fellow language learners, My name is Katerina, I’m a native Russian speaker and a foreign... language teacher from St Petersburg, Russia. I’ve always been addicted to learning foreign languages, be it English, German, Spanish, Turkish or Arabic, so turning my passion into my job was just a matter of time. I have a Master’s degree in linguistics which taught me to understand the way the mechanism of a language works and thus to help my students see the logics behind the grammar rules. Being a constant language learner enables me to see the process from both sides and to predict the difficulties my students might face. The fact that I’m not a native speaker of English or German means I’ve been through exactly the same language-learning journey you’re about to take, and thanks to my personal experience as a student, I can make this road smooth for you. I've had students of all ages, from pre-school kids to senior generation, and I feel comfortable working with both beginners and those who are eager to take their learning process to a new level. In my classes I encourage you to talk in the language we’re studying as much as possible, putting every single bit of knowledge into practice right away. If you’re a Russian-learner, I’d be glad to prove it to you that you can absolutely nail my mother-tongue - and yes, you’ll be able to make a small talk in Russian by the end of the first class even if you’re an absolute beginner! We’ll be focusing on the topics that are most relevant to your goals, while discovering the language and getting to know more about the culture of people who speak it. I offer a short free trial class, for us to give each other a smile and discuss our teaching pattern, in order to ajust it to your goals and make our lessons the bee's knees :) See you soon! I am a professional linguist and teach German, Russian and Japanese. My teaching experience is more than 18 years. I teach 3 courses related to... German / Russian / Japanese : Basic, General and Conversational. I will briefly describe them here. Basic German / Russian / Japanese I teach fundamental concepts here, the ones students need to understand to be able to communicate in the language, thus acquiring working experience in the usage of various grammatical constructions, common vocabulary words, pronunciation, listening comprehension, speaking and writing skills. Students usually understand my explanations without difficulty since I speak several foreign languages and can compare their structures. General German / Russian / Japanese My approach to teaching GeneralCourse is to enable students continually advance in the language. Grammar rules are thoroughly analyzed, reading, writing, speaking and listening activities are arranged with increasing difficulty levels. Conversational German / Russian / Japanese The goal is to improve student’s speaking skills and listening comprehension. Complicated grammar is not utilized. A suggested list of conversation topics is provided. The emphasis is on the abundance of speaking practice. I may combine these courses to do my best to deliver my lessons. However, it is the wish of a student to choose which course should be primarily taught. I would also like to mention that I always correct mistakes when my students speak or write. Correcting pronunciation mistakes is also very important. I put a strong emphasis on grammar. Grammar is complicated sometimes, but if you know it well , you will not make critical mistakes. I have made it a habit to constantly check for mistakes, even little ones, when my students read texts, retell them, discuss them, write short summaries, etc. Read more
