Dear Students, I am a native Standard-German speaker, translator (English-German-Spanish), language manager and teacher holding certificates in... various languages, translating, teaching, interpreting and in creative writing with six years of teaching and three years of translating, transcribing, proofreading, voice-over experience.I offer patient, fun, interesting, efficient, flexible and individual German online and face-to-face lessons for all levels and needs as well as exam preparations. My long and vast experience in studying various and different languages such as English, Spanish, French, Hindi, Arabic, Korean, Indonesian, Turkish, Greek, Italian... enabled me to gain a profound understanding of the acquisition of languages, their differences and similarities as well as the best teaching tools and ways of learning languages in general. Besides my knowledge in languages, I also studied Humanities, Sociology and Psychology, which enriched my teaching methods and understanding as well as my competence as a patient and empathetic teacher even more. Not only do I put high importance on the general acquisition of a language such as speaking, vocabulary, comprehension, writing and so on, but also on the cultural, historical and social frame in which every language is embedded to enable an even deeper and complex understanding of a language. Saying that my lessons do not only contain the acquisition of the language in general but also include the teaching of the history, culture, politics, social landscape, culinary and tourism that is linked with the language and world in which it is embedded. Furthermore, I like to conduct my lessons in a modern and diversified way, using different kinds of material and media such as journals, radio programs, movies, photos, videos, books and thus encouraging creative dealing with the language through projects and presentations in order to provide variety and interesting lessons and prevent monotonous and tedious lessons. I am a certified TestDaF and telc examiner. I specialise in test preparation. I offer both general and intensive German language courses, and... specific classes of grammar, conversation, writing, test preparation and interview preparation. My focus is on intermediate and advanced German learners, who need a higher level of accuracy and fluency in terms of exposition, argumentation and self-expression. I had been teaching German at one of leading language schools in Berlin for over six years. I hold a Magister (German equivalent to the master's degree) in Germanistics (German language, literature, and history) from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (2001) and a teaching certificate of German as a foreign language from Goethe-Institut München (2010). Before becoming a language teacher, I was a journalist for six years at a local newspaper in Potsdam. Language lessons can be fun, but language-learning is certainly time-consuming and occasionally frustrating. I am therefore aiming at establishing collaborative relationships with my clients to keep them inspired and motivated throughout the journey.
