Duration 1h If you are just starting learning French, you can join and grab as much as you can, I will be here to help you with the basics. If you have learnt French for some time, this workshop is perfect for you to practise what you have learnt. If you have learnt French in the past, you will be able to refresh and brush up your skills. There are several workshops: Videos & Speaking. The sessions is based on videos. Each session will introduce a new topic for you to enrich your vocabulary. Topics can be science, arts, history, medicine, ecology, sports, cooking, etc.. For beginners-intermediate and intermediate-advanced Discussion-debat. A greatplace for your natural flow. We will be covering a large range of topics such as environment, society, art, philosophy, politics... So feel free to air your thoughts. I will guide you through the debate as the groupe will splitinto pros-cons to keep it lively and dynamic. For intermediate-advanced Speak on the Topic. Build up your vocabulary and your confidence as speaking about a different topic every week. Examples of topics : Daily routine and hobbies, talk aboutyour travalling and holiday, fashion and style, introduce yourself, talk about your past and memories. For beginners-intermediate What we will cover: - pronunciation - intonation - stress on words - speaking fluidity - vocabulary - anything else that you are struggling with and feel you need support with - possibly grammar and conjugation but these will not be at the core of the workshop. This workshop is based mainly on speaking and listening! I will prepare lots of activities and everyone will have a chance to speak according to the topic covered during the session and to practise their listening comprehension. Grammar and conjugation will not be taught in this workshop, but if you need an explanation about a specific point, I will be more than happy to go through it with you. I have been a teacher for more than 20 years. I am French and I studied English in France but also in England. I live in Indonesia. I am really... into adaptive teaching and innovative teaching methods using different new technologies and different skills. I create my own material and my purpose as a teacher is to adapt to my students and keep them motivated and eager to learn. I always choose subjects related to my students' background and environment, always in context and using as many authentic documents as I can. My teaching really goes beyond mere language learning but provides openness to different cultures (French but also English, American and Australian) English and French are real passions for me and I love comparing and studying both languages through my readings and different language contacts. Teaching a language is loving it and understanding it perfectly. My advantage is to know both English and French and to be able to explain to non-French or non-English speakers how things work, make relevant comparisons when possible. French is my mother tongue but I studied English thoroughly and lived in the UK. Now I am a teacher in an International school in Indonesia. I have been living here for nearly 5 years and I enjoy the opportunity to teach students from different backgrounds and different origins. Getting back to my experience as a teacher, I would say my career has been so far characterised by diversity : diversity of schools, of year levels, of interests (from adults at the university to primary school children or again, disadvantaged students who did not really see the point in learning English while living in France, or again eager and learned students who aimed at entering prestigious universities). In 2020, I have run several conversation workshops online with B2-level students, from the Pedagogical and Technological University of Tunja, Colombia. I also speak English. We will use the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL) to set linguistic goals according to the level you want to reach. I like to design the lessons and to add some rituals, to help you learn and memorize more easily. However, I will be listening to your need and demands. 3. Documents and material I use If you choose to have online lessons, we can meet on Skype, Google Meet, Zoom or Webex. I use authentic and semi-authentic documents, found online, in books, newspapers, textbooks, to help you face realistic conditions. We shall vary and have different activities, such as cultural and cross-cultural activities, comprehension activities, writing or speaking activities. Activities focusing on the lexicon, on grammar or on the pronunciation can also be offered, should you need it ; everything will beadapted according to your profile and needs, in order to suit you.
