People assume that learning a foreign language is a simple means to an end: getting a promotion, passing an exam, finding a job... Don't get me... wrong, it is possible to see things from this perspective, but learning can also be a way to get out of one's own mental schemes and comfort zone: making an effort to think in another language is also a way to put oneself at stake, and - of course - to grow as an individual. All this does not necessarily mean something tiring or unpleasant: as a matter of fact, during my years of university teaching, I have, in my turn, learned that studying a language can be a fun, stimulating, and - why not? - enjoyable process. Studying doesn't necessarily have to limit to weighty tomes of grammar, but the passions and interests of the learner play an equally important role; in this sense sky's limit, thanks to the articles available on the web, combined with creativity. At the same time, I strongly believe in the playful aspect of the learning process, as supported, moreover, by extensive literature. A few words about me: I started giving private lessons when I was still in high school (linguistic, of course) and since then I have never stopped. Aside from my office work, I have taught at the University of Naples "Parthenope" and currently have two courses at the University of Sannio. In addition to the language diploma, I have a four-year degree in "Foreign Languages and Literatures" from the Orientale University in Naples, a Master's degree in "American Studies" from the University of Turin and a PhD in "Languages and Specialised Terminologies" from the University of Naples "Parthenope".
