(For SPANISH below) About me I studied Spanish Philology at the Sofia University and the University of Valencia and I just finished my... Master’s Degree in Theatre Creation at the Carlos III University in Madrid. I’ve been living in Spain for the last 4 years and I´ve been teaching Bulgarian and Spanish to foreigners since my early student years. I have a diploma for a professional language teacher and I did a specialization in Pedagogy during my Bachelor´s studies. I worked for two years in a language academy teaching Spanish. I also work as a freelanced translator from Bulgarian to Spanish and vice versa and a playwright which is my career goal for the future. Мethodology The fact that I know in depth three languages from different language families gives me the possibility the compare them in all their aspects and offer an associative, comparative and logical learning. As an artist, I sometimes adapt theatre and musical techniques for teaching purposes and I work with a lot of materials from real life (articles, songs, television) which make the learning process more natural by escaping from the “artificial” content which most of the text books contain. I always adapt my approaches to the needs, interests, purposes and ways of thinking and learning of my students. My classes are for all levels, ages and objectives. Hello my Dear students! My name is Desislava and I am from Bulgaria. In 2017 I finished my Master`s thesis concerning foreign language students`... motivation. It was a great and very interesting challenge for me to look for and find so many answers and helpful tips for me as a teacher on how to make my students` motivation bigger. Since 2014 to 2018 I was a teacher in English for the local university in my home town- Blagoevgrad. I am thankful to every single student that I have had so far because teaching is a process where the teacher and the students both give and take. I have learnt that patience is one of the biggest factors while being a learner and then a teacher. Before I became a teacher ,it is logical that I had been a student. I will always remember the best teachers that I had and I promised myself to try to be like them. I am currently taking care of my first child, so this is why I stopped working for the university. In me you can find not only a teacher, but also a good friend. We can share memories, good and bad happenings or whatever you like. Be free to contact me for English and Bulgarian lessons also! Everyone is more than welcome to ask me for help. I promise to give 100% and let the learning process begin! Thank you for reading my introduction, thank you in advance if you choose me as a teacher! See you! :) Read more

Learning a foreign language is a beautiful and awe-inspiring journey which is not strange to me. Growing in Europe and living in Canada has... shaped my thinking abilities to see beyond the surface of individual’s potential to study. It remodeled my senses in a special way to be able to respond with tact and compassion to the needs of my students. In the same time it taught me the value of persistence and creativity. These abilities have helped me to master the art of teaching. Every student makes me a better friend, family member and a person. So far, I've helped different age groups to converse freely, to read, understand and love both English and Bulgarian. Beside that, my students not just improve their grades at school. Some of them became English teachers themselves. No two students are exactly alike. That's why I mostly use personalized learning method. It builds a learning experience that addresses the unique abilities of each student. Another method of teaching that I use is Learning by experiment. In that way students learn by doing. I create experiences for them to see the concepts in action. I found out that students tend to remember better when they see and then discuss what they learn from what they saw. Beside these methods you will enjoy Modeling, Mistakes, Feedback and one of my top methods: Lesson Objective Transparency. When I clearly state my lesson goals and write it on the board, then you will feel relax because you will know what you are working towards. Please, be assured you won’t regret giving me the opportunity to help you! Read more
Hello, My name is Desislava and I am here to help you develop your English or Bulgarian language skills. I am very experienced in using both of... the languages proficiently in academic, professional, and everyday settings. I have experience in teaching both English and Bulgarian. I try to tailor my teaching style according to the needs of the student. I believe that communication is key and creating a friendly and relaxing environment is the best way to bring out the best of both the student and the teacher. Including information about the culture and the way of living in the countries, where the language is spoken, is also something that I practice in my teaching. Culture shapes language and giving background on the societies in which it is spoken helps students understand it and speak it better themselves. I am friendly and understanding and the people I have tutored in the past have not only achieved great results on their exams, but we have also become friends in the process. I am dedicated and adaptable and I am happy to work with my students to find the style of teaching that suits their needs the most. Do not hesitate to contact me with any inquiries! Desi Read more

I love preparing my students for certificates as well as job interviews and making presentations. I adore interacting with junior students as well. I am capable of helping learners to improve their listening skills and to boost their speaking abilities. I love assisting my students in solidifying their grammar and enhancing their pronunciation. I do my best to make my class a fun and enjoyable place where the learning process is interesting and innovative. I believe that I am kind, courteous, reliable, trustworthy, patient and a first-rate people person. I do not claim to be an expert or that I am the best English teacher ever. However, I am an extremely driven individual and I am committed to evolving and being a better version of myself every single day. Probably I would never sound completely like a native English speaker; nevertheless, I possess other skills that make me a decent English tutor. Despite the fact that I am extremely critical when I have to evaluate myself, I am biased. That is the reason I decided to ask some of my students to comment on my strengths and weaknesses as a teacher. You can see their feedback concerning my teaching methods in the video attached. https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/564969324/8e48527f48/privacy Read more
