I like to use role-plays, drama, debates, make my student create projects that would motivate him/her to use English in a fun way.

I am a multilingual teacher with experience in teaching French to German, Japanese, English, Bulgarian and Italian-speaking students, etc. (levels A1 to C1).

I have been teaching French for 8 years in Luxemburg and now in Bulgaria for 4 years, to teenagers, housewives, businessmen, employees, doctors, etc. I can also help you with DELF and DALF preparation. I give lessons via Skype, Zoom and Microsoft Teams in several countries.

My teaching method for each class : a grammar point together with listening, a lot of speaking with conversation questions or games. While you speak, I write all the new words you need to express yourself, illustrated by pictures or translated in your language.

Learning a foreign language is, in my view, above all through cultural curiosity. We want to learn a language because we want to live in the country, travel there or get to know it better. We feel attracted. It is its Culture that motivates us in our learning: music, film, text, literature, way of being and cultural differences forming "another world". This means that learning is not just about learning a list of words and grammar lessons, as is taught too often in school. Practice again and again through conversation, books, music, movies and above all the pleasure of speaking and listening.

I adapt the student's personal work according to their available time and their objective (conversation, deadline for an exam, scheduled trip, etc.).

After training as a pastry chef and studying business administration, I traveled a lot and discovered my interest in languages. To find out more about teaching languages, I decided on further training at the Goethe Institute and completed it. During the Goethe Institute "Learn to teach German" course I was able to give individual language lessons and actively support the examination preparation for the Goethe certificate.

My lessons are needs-oriented. That means that learning goals are discussed with you and based on your level of knowledge. Whether grammar, sentence structure, pronunciation, expression or the practice of communication situations: German as a foreign and second language classes are flexible and take place in a group or one-to-one lessons with individual support and are based on your wishes and requirements. The teaching of content and topics takes place according to the respective language level. I am originally from Ecuador and hence Spanish is my native language. However, I also speak English fluently because I studied my entire undergraduate program in the UK. During my time there, I also had the chance to work in my university and my role involved working with students from all over the world on a daily basis and help them to develop new skills, engage in extracurricular activities and even helping them to find internships and work placements. I also volunteered in a university society as a Spanish teacher.

I am a teacher of English with more than 20 years experience. For the last 15 years I have lived and taught English in the South East of England, but originally I come from Minsk, Belarus, so English is actually my second language. This means that I certainly know what it is like to be a language learner and can appreciate the challenges you are facing, and I also know how to help you achieve a really high level.

I have worked with many different nationalities and almost all age groups and taught a variety of ESOL courses at all levels, including exam preparation classes such as IELTS. I teach with a communicative and learner-centred approach, taking into account your interests, preferences and personal goals, as well as the requirements of the exam you may be working towards.

As a DELTA-qualified and experienced tutor, I am familiar with many modern teaching methods, and prefer to use a mix rather than stick to one way of teaching. Depending on your level, your needs and, of course, your wishes, I can make some lessons more structured, with pre-determined objectives, topics and language content, whereas other sessions may be more flexible and informal, so we can discuss a topic or a language problem that comes up naturally during the lesson. I encourage my students to be autonomous learners, so I will welcome your initiative as to how or what you prefer to study, but I can also completely understand it if you prefer to have lessons where the teacher decides what is right for you at this stage. Either way is an effective way of learning and together we can find out very quickly what works for you.

Whenever possible, I use authentic resources, such as online newspaper articles and BBC videos, and I often design tasks and exercises myself, to make my lessons more up-to-date and matching your particular situation. I also use materials from EFL coursebooks and language-learning websites. Whatever your level, I will always have a lot of suggestions for you as to what materials and online applications you can use to support your study in between lessons.

I am Maria. I am a teacher of modern and ancient Greek with 20 years experience. I love teaching people from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds and I strongly believe in online language teaching as a very efficient method of learning. I hold a BSc in History and Archeology and a MA in teaching Modern Greek as a foreign language, both from the University of Athens. I have a strong experience as Exams Assessor on State Exams for the «Certificate of Attainment in Greek». I am currently teaching Modern Greek as a foreign language online at Avenues, The World School in New York, as well as to foreigners living in Athens, such as Embassies members and their families.

In my courses, I emphasize the importance of communication and the practical uses of language. I consider therefore communication as the most suitable approach, because it gives a lot of emphasis on realistic situations making the learner aware of how the language actually works (that does not mean that I don't give the same importance to the grammar rules and the syntax, especially to the advanced levels).
