What our teachers offer
Native French teacher
I have a degree in tourism and communication. I am French and have been living in Spain for six years. I have been teaching my native language as a foreign language for two years to children and teenagers. I have also prepared students for the DELF B1 and B2 exams.
French is a particularly demanding language. Therefore, the preparation of DELF and DALF requires a certain methodology. The teaching that I offer is consequently based on organization, research and hierarchization of ideas and the development of a critical sense.
But French is also a rich and fun language that is easy to play with. I particularly like to make it accessible to young and old alike in order to make them aware of Francophone culture.
To help learners achieve their goals, I use different media. I adapt to their needs: initiation or reinforcement in conversation, written expression, written and oral comprehension... Each course is personalized.

Hi, welcome to my profile!
My name is Alessia and I currently live in Italy. I lived some years in America where I deepened my knowledge of English and American dialects. I am currently specializing in the Spanish and German. In all these years I have given private lessons of Italian, English, Spanish and Japanese, at the moment the most required language. Regarding Japanese, I had the opportunity to experience the teaching of the language in an American College with a native Japanese teacher, implementing the method that they themselves use to learn their language. I will help you in a simple way; conversation is really important to learn a language and even more a good method. No days spent on textbooks are needed, constancy and fun during lessons are the most important part for learning. You will see the results immediately! I am patient, flexible and I will adapt in all ways to your personal needs. I'll wait for you on my profile for the trial lesson and discover an easy and fun method to learn a language as soon as possible.

After one lesson, I knew that Natalia would be a great fit for me. She made the conversation fun and stimulating. Natalia was very patient with me. Yet, she also encouraged me to speak french in a way that I had not spoken before. By the end of the lesson, my french stream of conscious was more fluid than it had ever been. I know that each lesson will be the highlight of my week.
Natalia L.Sarah is an excellent student, she is so motivated! She is learning French very fast and each class I see how she is able to speak and understand so much more. I am sure she will be speaking fluently soon!

Hello there! My name is Phyllis Kasala and I must say I love teaching. The love for teaching and being a life-long learner found me at a tender age of 14, since then i knew it was my destiny to share my knowledge with the world. I have a bachelor's degree with the University of Pretoria and it is a very esteemed varsity i also went further and secured a Teaching English To Foreign Learners certificate (TEFL) which shows that not only do I want to learn, but I do not like limiting myself. English may be difficult to learn and understand to a person who has no clue about the language but, that's why you have me! I make sure that I teach in a relaxed and quiet environment where the learner feels safe and free to make mistakes because we all must remember making mistakes is a vital part of learning. I am currently on my journey to enroll into my honours which will be about researching how to teach learners with learning difficulties such as ADHD and much more. I cater for all learners be it visual learners, kinetic learners, auditory learners and verbal learners which basically means I cater for all, during my lessons. I make use of creative and colorful PowerPoints that have sound and easy gimmicks to help remember what you may have learnt on that specific day. So do not fret as we will walk this journey together. Just remember I am close friends with all the letters in the English alphabet and I don't know "y" (just a joke to cheer you up)!

I have been an instructor of English as a second language for 8 years now. Teaching students from different countries. I conduct Conversational English classes and Business English classes to students of different skill levels and age levels - from beginner to advance, from kindergarten to professionals. I have won different awards for my exemplary performance including best teacher. I have attended numerous training sessions to enhance skill set, including accent training, grammar training, product training and personality development training. In my own teaching, I apply the conversational approach which can give students powerful potential, having more speaking confidence will allow students to converse on many different topics, which is every language teacher's dream for their students.

Hi, my name is Ayşegül. I graduated from Hacettepe University in the department of English Language Teaching. I'm an English teacher in a private institution now. I can teach both English and Turkish.
First and foremost, I want to start with one of my favourite quotation from Richard Henry Dana(!) (I'm not sure whether this quotation belongs to him or not, but I liked it. :) “He who dares to teach must never cease to learn.” First of all, we as teachers must improve ourselves about everything such as cultural knowledge, technology, best seller books new novels etc. We should keep up with the times and try to understand our students.
Then we should know students’ interests, needs, backgrounds and their level of English / Turkish. If we know the aforementioned things, it would be easier for us to decide what kind of materials we can use to attract their attention. Also, one of the key points is that we should motivate the students to learn. As teachers we should teach our students why they learn language/grammar/vocabulary etc. rather than just memorization. Regarding teaching methods we can use student-centered methods. We should use examples from real life so they can broaden students’ knowledge. Also using examples from real life, help students to internalize the examples. I strongly believe that we should make our students acquire the language from all aspects including reading, listening, writing, and speaking.
All in all, as a teacher we have lots of things to do. One of our most important responsibilities’ is to help students to understand that they have enough power and capacity to learn a language if they are determined enough....

I have been Aysegul's student for 6 months and I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. You can immediately tell she has a passion for language and education which is very encouraging. She always provides context and additional information around Turkish culture which helps you understand the background of what you are learning and also helps you connect with what you've learnt. I would absolutely recommend Aysegul for beginners, intermediate or advanced students looking for a kind, patient and knowledgable tutor.

Hello! My name is Andrei, and I'm a professional theater director and educator from Saint-Petersburg, Russia. I teach theater all over the world - in Europe and the USA, and I teach Russian online for anyone who studies Russian and loves Russian culture.
Learning and teaching languages is my passion. As a theater director, I interact with Russian language and Russian literature on daily basis, so, when teaching Russian, I strive to share my love of it and spread my knowledge.
No less than Russian, I love English, which allows me to communicate with the world. In 2018, I won a Fulbright competition and as a Fulbrighter and Visiting Scholar I taught Russian theater techniques at two American universities - The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and The University of Illinois at Chicago. This experience helped me improve my spoken English and convinced me that language is a powerful tool for cultural exchange.
Qualifications & Experience
As a tutor, I've been teaching Russian online for about 2 years. During this time I've taught around 50 students - from beginners to advanced. Among my students I have had an American military pilot, an American embassy officer in Kazakhstan, dozens of college students, and others. I've gained some experience in diagnosing student problems and finding effective tactics to improve their skills.
As a person who was trained a lot in voice and speech class during my studies in the Saint-Petersburg State Theater Arts Academy, I can also help you significantly improve your pronunciation.
Teaching Approach
I believe that it's not enough to learn grammar and vocabulary to master a foreign language. One has to be immersed into a real language, a language people really speak, which is always different from those versions we encounter in various textbooks.
On the other hand, it seems to me important to show students higher examples of the Russian language - the literary language. It's essential to know which speech sounds good and to distinguish it.
I mainly rely on conversational practice. However, as to their homework, I strongly recommend students to listen to Russian speech using various videos and podcasts, and I give them four special techniques for working with these types of materials. I firmly believe that listening can create the basis for future communication skills. There's no doubt that children begin to speak imitating the speech of their parents.
During my lessons I use "Russian in Exercises" written by S.A. Khavronina and A.I. Shirochenskaya - a book published in 2014, which became a bestseller among those who teach Russian as a foreign language, "53 Models of Russian Grammar" by T.M. Dorofeeva and M.N. Lebedeva, various exercises, tables and games, as well as interviewing and retelling.

Let me give you a feedback about my lessons with Andrei in English. I searched for a russian teacher almost 2 years ago, and I was most lucky to find 2 really good teachers with different specialties immediately. Apparently I was one of Andrei's first russian students, and I admire the patience he had with me at that time, because I knew so little in russian, that it must have been a pain with me. At that time I had studied 9 months, using books, audio files, podcasts and articles etc. But I knew I needed to talk to get fluid in russian. As I am over 50, it takes me some more time to learn something than it was during my school time. I can only imagine, how this must have felt to Andrei at our beginning. Andrei comes from the cultural sector, having been a director at a St. Petersburg theatre and a Lecturer to students there. In his intro he states very calmly and somewhat non-passionately, how much he loves the russian language. Believe me, the passion became visible and tangible vehemently later on. There was no theme, we could not touch together, and I feel honored to be instructed by such an intellectual gentleman. Andrei was quite demanding, and early on I had to write texts, which we later on worked through. I tend to write in complicated ways, and he regularly demanded from me to find and use the most common and simple way of expressing my thoughts. This helped me enormously, because I had started at the typical point to simply translate the phases I had built in German, my mother tongue. A translated sencence sounds translated, whereas a natively expressed sentence has the potential to be recognized as "almost russian" :-) As I said, I feel tremendously privileged to learn from Andrei, and I enjoy our lessons enormously, as can be seen from the 136 lessons to this date. I can recommend Andrei to anyone, who looks for more than the mechanics of the language, who enjoys the fire, seeks for context or loves to come up with totally unexpected questions. Andrei loves to see progress, and if you work on your personal progress, it is a pleasure to work with him. Thank you so much, Andrei!

Hello everyone. My name is Will Alberts, 52 years old, and I live in Roermond, a beautiful city in the south of Limburg (Netherlands) and I am a first-degree qualified teacher of English.
I have been teaching English at all levels to 12-18 year olds for 15 years. I've always enjoyed doing that, even during Covid-19, when we were forced to teach online. I have experience with Zoom, Teams and Skype. I liked online teaching so much that I would like to do this part-time, in addition to giving physical tutoring to my students at home.
I think it is very important that the student also decides what a lesson should look like.
If you are partly in control as a student, you are more motivated!
I have worked with many (digital) methods, but I also make my own lessons.
I am flexible in terms of time, so you decide when you want to have your lessons.
Hope to see you soon!
