My name is Laura Borger and I am a qualified language teacher. I have been teaching Dutch to young and old for the past seven years.
I have been teaching online for a year now and I love it. My students range from beginners to advanced, so I have collected tons of materials for all levels.

Also, at the University of Leiden I completed the Master Linguistics and the Master Education.

My lessons are based on the needs and interests of my students. For example, if you are in need of grammar, I will adjust my material accordingly. Or if you want to focus on speaking skills, I have tons of activities to develop this skill too!

My personal goal is to ensure that my classes are dynamic, active and fun! I use games, current topics and digital exercises and I feel the proudest when I can really observe the progress in my student's Dutch level.

My teaching method is based on the Communicative language teaching approach, which is student centered and focused on the functional aspects of the language. In this approach the student is encouraged to use English since day one, no matter what his level is!
I'm able to help the student to improve his vocabulary, his grammar knowledge and pronunciation.Given my work experience in different fields, I'm confident that I can help the student with business English and preparing fo job interviews as well.

My name is Katerina, I’m a native Russian speaker and a foreign language teacher from St Petersburg, Russia. I’ve always been addicted to learning foreign languages, be it English, German, Spanish, Turkish or Arabic, so turning my passion into my job was just a matter of time. I have a Master’s degree in linguistics which taught me to understand the way the mechanism of a language works and thus to help my students see the logics behind the grammar rules. Being a constant language learner enables me to see the process from both sides and to predict the difficulties my students might face. The fact that I’m not a native speaker of English or German means I’ve been through exactly the same language-learning journey you’re about to take, and thanks to my personal experience as a student, I can make this road smooth for you.

I've had students of all ages, from pre-school kids to senior generation, and I feel comfortable working with both beginners and those who are eager to take their learning process to a new level. I'll listen to your needs carefully and suit my teaching accordingly.
My aim is to help you learn for real. Surely, you need to improve your comprehension skills, but fluency has to be reached or ameliorated. Rhythmic contrast, intonation and pronunciation (IPA) should not be neglected because they are part of the language. I'll provide you with material, learning strategies and plenty of encouragement.

People who know me say that I'm respectful, competent and professional. This doesn't translate into a serious and boring method. To the contrary, I think learning should be interesting and enjoyable.

EXPERIENCE
I've been teaching English for about 18 years. I work with students, professionals and companies. General or business English. I was born in Scotland, but then I lived in Italy and in the USA, where I graduated in 1993. I live in Italy at the moment. I've been carrying out projects for companies such as Sephora, Sma Supermercati, Corriere della Sera and Gazzetta dello Sport, GrandVision and Walt Disney, but I also enjoy teaching students and anybody who's interested in learning English or Italian.

My name Akani Zelda Baloyi and I am from South Africa. I have a TEFL certificate and I have been teaching English online for a year now. I speak English as second language.
When it comes to my teaching approach, I like to tailor my teaching approach in accordance with my student's individual needs, because I really care about them and want to know more about them. I also like to tailor my classes in accordance to what works well for my students.

I have been teaching foreign languages since 2012. I obtained a Master's degree in teaching English and French back in 2014, and completed my study in France afterwards. I worked both with adults and children.

The focus of my lessons is speaking. I motivate my students to start speaking from first lessons and stop waiting for a perfect language level to speak. It is very important to overcome a language barrier from the first lessons and start gaining confidence while speaking a foreign language. Making mistakes is a part of trying to master any new skill. I adapt my lessons according to personal needs of my students. Everybody is different and don't need the same things. That's why it is important to work on motivation, and why of a student in the beginning to be able to construct the best plan of actions. We discuss weak sides and desire of a student which help me a lot in our work.

I like to use only native speaking materials. I I use video and audios from native sources as well. I adapt and develop a lot of exercises to work on after every lesson.

I'm a certified Italian teacher based in my hometown Florence. I spent my childhood in a small village in the Chianti countryside and I always loved to explore curious aspects of different languages. I studied Arabic, English, French and Spanish and I like to help students with practical insights into Italian language to better fix the structures and improve pronunciation, grammar and conversation. After my studies (master degree in teaching Italian as a second language + CEDILS certificate - teaching Italian to foreign students), I taught in different contexts and countries (IIC of Beirut, private schools in Prague, companies in Malta and Florence and to many many private students!).
I try each time to adapt to every student's needs, with mainly one goal: making every student enthusiastic about the learning process and more and more confident. This is Sumru. I am a native Turkish speaker from Istanbul. I graduated from Translation Studies in 2014 and speak English and Spanish. I lived in Madrid for half a year and in different parts of Australia for a year.

Also the reason I chose Translation Studies is that I have a great interest in languages, including etymology, linguistics, phonetics and cultural aspects of them and I love not only learning about them, but also teaching them.

Becoming a professional translator requires a better command of your native language than your second language, so the Turkish I will be teaching will be more comprehensive than that of a native who hasn't studied languages.

I have been teaching Turkish online in another platform, and now I am on colanguage. I offer individual lessons for students, based on their goals, needs, language levels, and some other factors.
