What our teachers offer
Let's make studying fun!
My name is Ivan Popovic, born and raised in Croatia with a Serbian background.
In Zagreb, I meet many foreigners, and ex-pats who are settling in Croatia or sometimes they are here just for a couple of months and then they decide to go to live in some of the Balkan countries, Serbia is also on the list.
They are striving to learn the Croatian or Serbian language, and since I've seen their motivation I started teaching them.
So this is my first experience as a language teacher, of course, I can give anyone the contacts of people who can say how are they satisfied, but most of them are. These two languages are not easy, therefore I always try to learn people when we pass the basics of the languages the higher level through fun, either with stories, music or I ask people, what is your most important thing in life? Okay, so let's take that topic and now you will have more motivation to learn it in Serbian or Croatian. Then we go slowly into the topic and most of the time folks are progressing very quickly.
As for the materials, I mostly use several books for kids in elementary school (for beginners), also there are great pdf materials I have downloaded online. Later, for advanced studies, we use for example books with novels or biographies where the text is still easy and gradually becomes heavier.

OnlineCroatian Language Teacher
Hi everyone,
my name is Ivana and I am from Croatia. I have recently graduated at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Croatia, where I acquired a master's degree in English Language and Literature. I am an experienced translator and have a knowledge of the language needed for various jobs, schools, etc.
I also used to give lessons in English to elementary school children while I was a student.
Currently I am giving lessons in English to a young woman in college, whose aim is to learn to be able to communicate well in person. She chooses the topics she wants to talk about in Croatian and then we practice by having conversations in English. I correct her grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary.
My preferred method of teaching, however, is according to one's needs. If someone wants to improve their academic, that is, written English, I can adjust the sort of assignments and work we do. My first lesson is free, so that we can get to know each other and see if I am a good fit for you!

Laura is a great Spanish teacher ! She is patient and adaptes any of her lessons according your demand and level. I could have improved my pronunciation, my vocabulary and my grammar in Spanish thanks to her. I am an English language teacher with a strong academic background and a love of languages. I enjoy helping people to develop their ability to use English in different contexts.
I have the internationally recognised Cambridge CELTA qualification (Pass A) in English language teaching. I am teaching English to those learning for professional reasons or academic study as well as those learning for personal reasons or holidays. I am able to teach all levels from beginner to advanced (CEFR Levels A1-C2). I usually teach adults.
I have studied social sciences to PhD level and have experience of working in universities as a researcher, including giving tutorials. I have also worked as a professional proofreader.
I speak British English and I have an appreciation of other varieties of English, sometimes referred to as ‘Global Englishes’, as well as the use of English as a ‘lingua franca’ or common language.
I have been trained in the ‘communicative approach’ to language teaching. This approach is based on the idea that the best way for us to learn a language is through using it in communication that is meaningful for us. My lessons will help you to learn English through using it in activities and tasks that are connected to your reasons for learning English and your wider interests. The lessons will include vocabulary, grammar and other aspects of language as well as the four skills of listening, reading, speaking and writing, depending on your priorities. I would like to have some background information about you, including why you are learning English, your professional and/or personal interests and your first language. I can then create lessons that meet your individual needs with activities that are personalised for you.
I have also been trained in teaching English online and I am familiar with a range of digital tools that can make the lessons effective and interesting. I am also familiar with several sources of professionally designed study materials that are publicly available for adaptation for different learners. I will give you feedback on your strengths and on how to improve. I can also give guidance on homework and other resources you can access, if this is of interest to you.
I welcome your feedback on each lesson.
I have experience of learning languages myself, including Mandarin and Turkish, which I really enjoy. I hope that you will enjoy my English lessons.

Hello,
I was born in İstanbul and I lived there. I hold a bachelor degree in cinema and television at İstanbul Şehir University. During my university years, my stories have been published in major Turkish literary magazines. After my graduation I have been specializing in children's book illustration and literature. I founded children's book publishing house in Turkey. The name is Yıldız Tozu Publishing and my books were released. I worked as an editor-in-chief in the company. I was finding books in the world and I was publishing them in Turkish. I am practically and professionally working on Turkish language and literature. Later on, I moved France to continue my education and works about literature and art. Currently, I am learning french.
I have experience in teaching Turkish in years. Furthermore, I speak English very well (TOEFL B2), it is advantage for students who are beginners.
Here my methodology when I teach Turkish:
I will use the grammar books and my presentations, time to time.
For speaking practice: illustrations, daily conversations
For listening practice: Turkish songs, movies, series
For reading practice: news and articles about Turkey (for advance students), stories, picture books (for intermediate students), texts from language books (for beginner and intermediate students.)
If students need to focus specific area like writing etc. I am designing my class according to that.
In addition, it is because I am using broad material about Turkish media, you will be familiar the culture and sociology of Turkey.
I like to do lesson in creative and in an organized way; therefore, I believe you will learn fast and you will enjoy learning Turkish with me!
I hope to see you in my class :)

Hello =)
My name is Karolin and since the beginning of 2017, while I was still living in Chile, I've been giving online classes. I really enjoy my work and it gives me the privilage to get to know people from all around the world, which is amazing.
Both in English and in German, I teach classes for beginners and advanced students. I speak Spanish fluently, but as I lived in Chile for around 5 years, both my pronounciation and my choice of words are influenced by that. I learned and teach the european Spanish but only for beginners (A1/A2). But if you don't mind the chilenean influence, I do teach to a higher level as well.
If you'd like to get to know me and my teaching methods, just contact me and we will do a free trial lesson (please do NOT by a lesson before the trial lesson, not every teacher is good for every student).
See you soon!

Hi! I am Maaike, a Dutch primary school teacher. Every day I'm doing by best to teach the Dutch language well to the childeren, but also other languages such as English and Spanish.
I have more than 12 years of experience as a teacher, in the Netherlands and abroad, to young and old!
In the Netherlands I have experience in each grade, so I know exactly how the Dutch language is given in primary education. This can certainly help children, but also adults who want to learn the Dutch language in a correct way, having a good basic knowledge is the most important part of learning a new language.
I lived in Spain for 3 years where I taught English to Spanish children and adults. During that period I also followed an intensive language course to learn the Spanish language. Currently I am learning Nepali through Skype. I know what it is like to learn a new language, what it involves and how the learning process works.
I will first discuss with you what you would like to achieve by following the language lessons and what your needs are. Maybe it's just speaking skills, or grammar or listening skills, or a combination. In addition, I want to use my creativity to apply methods that work best for you, personalized language classes. :)
My goal is to give you the feeling after each class that you've come one step closer to your personal goal!
Feel free to request a trial class, so we can see what I can do for you and if my way of teaching suits you. See you soon! :)

English teacher with 13 years teaching experience in Italy. Speaks English and Italian.
Hi, I'm Jason, I'm English and live in Central Italy where I teach English to students of all levels, all ages and all abilities. English for school, for exams or tests, for work or for business.
My methods are based on building your confidence to speak English, developing your listening skills so you can understand English and helping you understand the grammar rules of the English language.
Why in this way? Because my students have the best results when they are able to speak in English as soon as possible. Then, when you can converse in English and understand simple conversation you can develop all your language skills very quickly.
Of course, for some students, grammar and written English is a priority and I can help you develop these skills first if that is what you need.
For others they need to learn specific vocabulary for their work, I have given courses in business, medicine and tourism that can be adapted for all types of work situations.
I am teaching students from 3 to 70 years old and my lessons are adapted for every individual so they have the best opportunity to realize their goals.
If you are interested then please contact me for a chat and a free trial lesson.

Hello! Γεια σας!
I'm so glad you are here!
My name is Erofili and I'm a tutor of the Greek Language.
I have more than ten years of experience teaching children and adults, in schools but also privately.
I have a Bachelor’s in English Language and a post-graduate degree in teaching methodology. I’m fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese and speak a little bit of Italian.
I have travelled extensively, lived and taught in Italy and Spain so I’m quite familiar with different cultures and learning styles.
My lessons are student oriented, that means that I always tailor the lessons according to my students' needs, their learning goals and their interests.
After each class my students receive from me extra photocopiable material and notes that I prepare for each specific lesson that we do. I use photocopies, flashcards, games, real life material (articles, songs, videos e.t.c.) and send my students internet links with games and videos that can enhance their learning.
I also give them extra homework for self-study and correct it out of the class. In that way, a lot of work is done individually and off the class so the progress can be very quick.
I like being creative, innovative and using communicative methods.
If you have any question, please don't hesitate to contact me or book a trial lesson so we can discuss your goals and how we can reach them together...

Hello my Dear students! My name is Desislava and I am from Bulgaria. In 2017 I finished my Master`s thesis concerning foreign language students` motivation. It was a great and very interesting challenge for me to look for and find so many answers and helpful tips for me as a teacher on how to make my students` motivation bigger. Since 2014 to 2018 I was a teacher in English for the local university in my home town- Blagoevgrad. I am thankful to every single student that I have had so far because teaching is a process where the teacher and the students both give and take. I have learnt that patience is one of the biggest factors while being a learner and then a teacher. Before I became a teacher ,it is logical that I had been a student. I will always remember the best teachers that I had and I promised myself to try to be like them. I am currently taking care of my first child, so this is why I stopped working for the university. In me you can find not only a teacher, but also a good friend. We can share memories, good and bad happenings or whatever you like. Be free to contact me for English and Bulgarian lessons also! Everyone is more than welcome to ask me for help. I promise to give 100% and let the learning process begin! Thank you for reading my introduction, thank you in advance if you choose me as a teacher! See you! :)
