Bonjour!

My name is Iva, I am 26-year-old language student (French language and literature and Ukranian language and literature). My native language is Croatian. I have been studying French and English since I was 6, and I also speak Spanish.

I have 2 years experience of teaching French and Croatian (in person or Skype)

My lessons are combined with grammar, music, interesting fun facts and word games;I would like to show you the best of French and improve your language skills as I create the lessons by each person's wishes and capacity. I am patient, ambitious, passionate about learning new things. In my free time I volunteer in organizing sports events so I can help you with that vocabulary, too. look forward to your message and hope we can improve your French together.

Since I learn languages myself, I know the difficulties and hurdles that can arise when learning a foreign language. I take away your fear of using the German language, because the best way to learn a language is to speak it!

You want to take a telc, Goethe or TestDaF exam? I will help you! I teach from level B1 to C2. In the course of my teaching I have specialised in students and adult learners from the age of 19 who want to take one of these exams for professional or private reasons.

If you only want to prepare orally for an exam with me, I offer conversation lessons where I give you strategies and tips on how to pass the exam. You will do a lot of speaking and learn the phrases that are most important for the exam at your level.

I'll also show you how to integrate German into your everyday life, recommend podcasts, books and series to expand your vocabulary.

Are you looking for a job and need help with your application? No problem, I give you application training, revise your CV with you and write applications together with you. I will also prepare you for your job interviews.

Don't be shy and write to me before you book a trial lesson. Together we will work out a syllabus that is tailored to your needs and goals. We will learn what is important for you at this stage and where I see room for improvement. I adapt each lesson individually to you.

Due to my eight-year stay abroad in Ireland, I have a very good knowledge of English and can also explain something to you in English or Spanish, but in my lessons we almost only speak German together.

I was born in Norway in 1958. Since 1999, I have been living in Madeira, Portugal.My interests are many; music, photography, art, animals, nature, gardening, healthy food, teaching….
Qualifications & Experience
My academic background is in music and pedagogy from the Norwegian State Academy of Music, with some extra from Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA, and Norway Inland University of Applied Sciences.
I have many years of experience as a musician, teaching music and musical instruments.
Teaching language is closely related to teaching music.
I am teaching Norwegian as a Foreign Language online at Folkeuniversitetet Øst, Myngel and LTC language solutions, and have been teaching at  Lingu Norge and Learnship as well. I have also been teaching at Berlitz Virtual Classroom (BVC) for a couple of years before I was Lead Instructor – Recruitment and Training at BVC.

Teaching approach
Maybe you do not speak one word of Norwegian. Maybe you just want to practice speaking, or need grammar corrections.
Lessons are customized to fit the student’s need, with the reason why they want to learn Norwegian in mind: For work, daily life etc.
My teaching approach is “learning by speaking”. Speaking rather than cramming grammar and vocabulary from a book. We may also need material to work with. Depending on student’s need, this material could be the same as what is being used for immigrants to Norway.
Lessons
Please have a USB headset with a microphone – or ear pods w/microphone!It gives the best audio experience during the Skype sessions, and it separates the speaker from the microphone. It is important that I can hear your pronunciation clearly.
The first time we meet, I will find out on which level your Norwegian is.We will talk about your reasons for learning the language, your learning preferences, the approach to take, and which material to use if any.
Before the first lesson, and regardless of which level you are on, I do not expect anything more than a new student eager to learn my language!

I specialize in teaching you how to apply grammar, have a fluent conversation and to improve your writing skills. Moreover, I have helped Dutch speaking students to pass their NT1 exams as well as NT2 students with their language-exams.

I hold a MA in Language Didactics and New Technologies in Language Communication. I am native Greek speaker and also I speak fluently in English. I also know French in intermidiate level and I am basic user of Russian language.

I received further education on multilingual and multicultural subjects, as well as practice on how to influence students to improve their perspectives through activities or suitable educational material.

I can also teach Croatian, Serbian, Montenegrin, Bosnian because they are very similar and l am a native speaker. I think that both teaching and learning must be an interactive and funny process. After training as a pastry chef and studying business administration, I traveled a lot and discovered my interest in languages. To find out more about teaching languages, I decided on further training at the Goethe Institute and completed it. During the Goethe Institute "Learn to teach German" course I was able to give individual language lessons and actively support the examination preparation for the Goethe certificate.

My lessons are needs-oriented. That means that learning goals are discussed with you and based on your level of knowledge. Whether grammar, sentence structure, pronunciation, expression or the practice of communication situations: German as a foreign and second language classes are flexible and take place in a group or one-to-one lessons with individual support and are based on your wishes and requirements.
