Hello, My name is Zlatko. I believe that learning Bulgarian online with me gives you the best of both worlds: fast progress and enjoyment.Taking... on the challenge to learn a new language is impressive. The reasons might be different. Some people give it a go because they just like new things. Others need to learn a new language because they are moving to a country where the language is spoken. Remember that whatever your reason is, it is your motivation that is the key to successful learning. Who am I and why to pick me: - online and face-to-face teaching experience: over 15 years helping hundreds of students achieve their language goals - flexibility: willing to tailor my techniques to both your interests and specific needs - patience and excellent listening skills - honesty and collaboration: let's build trust and consider our work as a partnership - native Bulgarian speaker with oustanding educational background - sense of humour In general, my teaching style includes, but is not limited to: - speaking practice through role-play activities - stotytelling and discussions - gap filling excercises - listening comprehension - vocabulary development - accent reduction How does that grab you? If interested, drop me a line and we will discuss your language goals and expectations. I OFFER a 15 MINUTE TRIAL LESSON TO DEMONSTRATE WHAT MY TEACHING METHOD LOOKS LIKE. Hope to see you soon. Here are a few tips on how to get the most out of every lesson: 1. Review what you covered in your previous lesson. 2. Focus on things you had difficulty with. I will definitely go over them. 3. It is always a great idea to take notes during your lessons. It helps you stay more focused on what you are learning. 4. Feel free to ask me if anything has come up since your last lesson that you want clarification on. Your questions do not have to be prior lesson related, maybe you are just curious about how to say something. 5. Be sure you have completed your homework assignments. If you were not able to complete them, make notes about what stumped you. Were the instructions not clear enough, was the vocabulary beyond your level of comprehension, were the grammar rules too overwhelming, was there too much homework for the time you had planned to spend on it, and so on. 6. Contact me prior to your next lesson if there are any issues or changes you would like to make me aware of so I can have a chance to make changes to your learning plan. Hope this helps. Read more

1 Where I have learned English I started learning English in 1995, after my graduation from Sofia University, in a Suggestopedic course at the... same university. I was eager to acquire new learning/teaching methods and approaches, and Suggestopedia was among the most fascinating ones. That incredible Suggestopedic course gave me a mighty impuls to continue learning English and boosted my self-confidence so high that I started to use my newly acquired skills almost immediately; and shortly after, I found a new job requiring English command, e.g. using a lot of English sources for creating staff training and career guidance materials. Of course, English was not that widely spread in Bulgaria at that time, so English speakers were of high demand. That first Suggestopedic course, which I took in 1995, has also influenced all my English teaching/tutoring views and practice. Afterwards, I went through two more courses: one on-the-job in 2001, through my employer at that time, National Institute of Education, and the second and last one at Thanet College, England in 2004 (Advanced level +IELTS preparation course). At the end of the latter, I obtained my IELTS certificate, band 7.5 (International English Learning Testing System)/. And I have not stopped practicing, respectively improving my English ever since. Of course, between and during the aforementioned courses, there was a lot of self-study. I also intensively practiced it at work, including as a member of international teams within European Union programmes . 2 My methods I am learner-centred and help people learn as naturally as possible. My way of English tutoring is influenced by Suggestopedia, which I have experienced myself as a learner, as well as by the language acquisition hypothesis by Stephen Krashen. Three are the main pillars that I rely on as a tutor: good interpersonal communication; taking advantage of the omnipresent ICT; and contextual learning. 2.1 Interpersonal Communication: I have got on-the job training and 7-year experience in career guidance, including communication skills, and take advantage of them to help (facilitate) your English learning. My tutorials are learner-centred, i.e. they are based on your individual needs, and are also conversational, interactive, and also in a positive and friendly atmosphere of mutual respect. 2.2 Taking Advantage of ICT I am striving to seamlessly merge everyday life with English learning through ICT, i.e. in the tutorials, we employ ICT in the way we do it daily, while at the same time, each of us may learn from each other new ways of using ICT, respectively new applications. ICT is our communication media, and also provide us with a large range of content to choose from, i.e. texts and stories as well as grammar and drilling (exercising) materials. You can pick what is meaningful for you, thus co-creating your English course. ICT also gives us more and more sophisticated ways of self-expression and creativity both during and beyond our learning interactions. 2.3 Contextual learning. You learn English contextually, i.e. through a lot of references to your own life experience and environment, on one hand, and on another hand, through fiction, be it literature and films/videos or stories thought up by us. Storytelling is one of my beloved methods as a tutor. 3 What my students will learn You will advance in general English and especially in the topics of highest interest to you, since the course is tailor-made and we will be shaping the content together; You will gain self-confidence for practical application of your language skills in your life;Your language learning motivation will be kept strong and even boosted; You will try and learn a range of language learning strategies and techniques, which can help you become an independent language learner. 4 My English teaching experience I have been teaching English since 2013 in private language centres as well as by providing online English tutorials myself. My English teaching practice is based on the sound background of two Master’s degrees: in Pedagogy and in Cultural Heritage & Tourism. I have also got more than 25 years of practice in non-formal education and lifelong learning including seven years in vocational guidance (with focus on staff training), as well as 15+ years in European project work (EU grants in the fields of Professional Education, Citizenship, Youth). It has contributed to broadening and enriching my perspective as an English teacher/tutor to a great extent. My name is Monika and I am fluent Bulgarian and English speaker. I can help you to learn Bulgarian and/or English if you are a beginner or... if you want to prepare for your exams in Bulgarian grammar. I am passionate about languages because I found it easy to study languages in general. I took my final exam in Bulgarian grammar and literature with A. I also graduated Glasgow Caledonian University, which of course required IELTS.I would discribe myself as a very patient, supportive and highly motivated person. I don't like to put pressure on my students because the brain works better when the focus goes on the learning materials, not on the stress.I want to help everyone, who wants to learn Bulgarian and/or English without any struggle. Hope to see you soon. Read more

Hello, My name is Desislava and I am here to help you develop your English or Bulgarian language skills. I am very experienced in using both of... the languages proficiently in academic, professional, and everyday settings. I have experience in teaching both English and Bulgarian. I try to tailor my teaching style according to the needs of the student. I believe that communication is key and creating a friendly and relaxing environment is the best way to bring out the best of both the student and the teacher. Including information about the culture and the way of living in the countries, where the language is spoken, is also something that I practice in my teaching. Culture shapes language and giving background on the societies in which it is spoken helps students understand it and speak it better themselves. I am friendly and understanding and the people I have tutored in the past have not only achieved great results on their exams, but we have also become friends in the process. I am dedicated and adaptable and I am happy to work with my students to find the style of teaching that suits their needs the most. Do not hesitate to contact me with any inquiries! Desi Read more

(For SPANISH below) About me I studied Spanish Philology at the Sofia University and the University of Valencia and I just finished my... Master’s Degree in Theatre Creation at the Carlos III University in Madrid. I’ve been living in Spain for the last 4 years and I´ve been teaching Bulgarian and Spanish to foreigners since my early student years. I have a diploma for a professional language teacher and I did a specialization in Pedagogy during my Bachelor´s studies. I worked for two years in a language academy teaching Spanish. I also work as a freelanced translator from Bulgarian to Spanish and vice versa and a playwright which is my career goal for the future. Мethodology The fact that I know in depth three languages from different language families gives me the possibility the compare them in all their aspects and offer an associative, comparative and logical learning. As an artist, I sometimes adapt theatre and musical techniques for teaching purposes and I work with a lot of materials from real life (articles, songs, television) which make the learning process more natural by escaping from the “artificial” content which most of the text books contain. I always adapt my approaches to the needs, interests, purposes and ways of thinking and learning of my students. My classes are for all levels, ages and objectives. Dear all, Teaching is something that I am very passionate about. I have become very interested and fascinated by languages throughout the years,... thanks to my travelling experience and all those international people that I have got the chance to meet. Languages have become an inherent part of my life, and I think that their proper, correct and adequate application is the critical factor in our every day conversations and interactions and of course, being that valid for our business and official communications. You can achieve everything, if you are a good communicator, pragmatic, capable of understanding others thoroughly and being conscious of the common linguistic techniques. I have got an master in Semiotics, linguistics and advertisement in English that only came about as a consequence deriving from my interests in linguisitics and communication. My experience and academic education in languages has to do with: DELE C1 in Spanish; CAE in English; teaching workshops with British Council and Secretary of Education in Colombia; Masters of Semiotics and linguistics (in English) and two years of teaching experience (one year and three months in Bogota, Colombia and nine months in Sofia, Bulgaria). I consider myself a persistent, straighforward, responsible, innovative, resourceful and funny person. My direct style is a unique combination of entertaining approaches, (sometimes more easygoing elements) and at the same time rigorous and demanding touch that have proven in my experience to be very successful for my teaching methodology. Furthermore, the most important aspects of my approach are: the successful communication carried out on a daily basis; the innovative, but classic approaches as well; the constant and everlasting desire for improving and learning new things; and my result-oriented flexibility and ability to adapt to other people´s ideas, styles and mindsets. My approach and main focus are on: Communication, soft skills and more effective and proper application of languagesApplication of grammarPragmaticsTechniques on how to improve learning processesIf you like my ideas and methodology, I am on here! Be ready to experience something different, but give the best of yourself as well! Be game to try! Read more
